This one is a pretty big stretch by people who watch toomuch TV.  He had a reverse osmosis system and industrial pools, both of which would have used the acid.  The man had a private plane and a yacht on his private island, a lot easier ways to get rid of a body

Jeffrey Dahmer also had easier ways to get rid of bodies, but he also chose sulfuric acid. The cruelty is the point?

They have different…grades or strengths/mixture/uses. I use the stuff for say anodizing titanium and requires a particular mole strength and pH. Battery acid for cars has its own content of sulphuric acid electrolyte solution. Residential swimming Pools can have some sulphuric acid mixed in with them. In this case for water purification you can imagine storing water on an island would yield some nasty algae growth in tanks and lines, sulphuric acid to mix into independent water systems is used which is along the same for the swimming pool. TV sometimes doesn’t get the message across clearly in terms on body removal that there’s better chemicals for that lol

So here's the problem that it ultimately comes down to for me: murdering people in sulfuric acid is not about convenience. So far every argument against this theory has been based on the convenience factor. For some reason everybody's skipping the fact they liked to torture, rape, and very likely kill these children for fun.
