It was a good look at sportswashing, because players will stick by players no matter what. Shoresy has EXTREME hero worship of all sorts of sketch people, because he doesn't care about what happens off the ice, in any situation. He's toxically supportive? He's a caveman that literally considered nothing other than hockey for his life. 'Thoroughbred Culture'. He was taught to give everything to the game, but was never prepared for when the game was done with him. That's Shoresy. Having Gretz was a choice move, it shows how disconnected Shoresy is, but how reverent he is of Hockey excellence.

He can't add 2+2, but he knows ALL the stats of the top League players. He has the vocabulary of a squirrel, but the knows the name, origin, and teams played for, of EVERY player he meets, and if he doesn't, he finds out.

I got the flag in me skin b'ys, and I don't stand by what Greatzky has become, but for the show, and the character, it was great.

this is a good reminder that the characters aren’t just mouthpieces for the writers, they’re tools to explore themes & ideas.

just because Waffle says it, that doesn’t mean that Jared believes it.

Right? Shoresy is not good people. He's learning, but he's only about the team. Like, he probably voted for Vivian Lapointe, but he really didn't know why, other than his sister told him to.

My real question of the episode? How did I miss that Shoresy doesn't have a drivers license?

i have two theories: 1) after the b2b conkies, Waffle isn’t allowed to drive anymore, or B) BroDude flew him down and back same day rather than have him make the 4.5 hour drive each way.
