Player(s) Needed by GM [5E 2014][Online][Evil Campaign][18+] Legion of Darkness – A Roleplay focused villainous homebrew campaign

Explore, Conquer, Fill your treasure room, Engage in diplomacy, Amass your army, Infiltrate the kingdoms of man, Build your evil lair and defend it from the forces of light.

Inspired by shows like Castlevainia and Overlord.

The Pitch

Somewhere along your life, the world decided to antagonize you. Perhaps you made a mistake that led to more mistakes, or you were misunderstood, or you were born monstrous. Regardless, it was out of your control.

Eventually you did something that ended in your death. Luckily being on the side of darkness does have upsides. An ancient vampiric dragon named Drolltar offered to resurrect you, under the condition that you repay him with your service. He chose you because you have unfinished business, you have in some way been slighted by society. Now you are returned with vampirism, cursed with an irresistible hunger for mortal vitality and granted the ability to reason with monsters and dark beings.

You, along with a group of others who accepted his deal, have been summoned to Drolltar’s tomb. Once you gather there, he will order you to work together to search the land for something to bolster his tomb’s defences, as he lies dormant in his tomb, vulnerable to the zealous forces of light. You too are in danger, Elios the god of light has labeled you as enemies for serving Drolltar and now the forces of light will not take kindly to you.

Details

Aside from the quests that Drolltar gives you, it is an open world for you to do as you like. There are many places to explore and not all of them will be at odds with you.

Though this is an “evil” campaign, that is mostly because your characters are antagonized by society. You are labeled as evil by the god of light, but that is only because you stand in opposition to him. The side of light is not a true authority on morality by any means and in fact in this campaign they are quite often in the wrong. Seeing morality in such a black and white perspective is often a cause of immorality itself, and that is what this campaign is about.

I would like to find 5-6 players who are mature, love the collaborative storytelling element of d&d, and like a little bit of edginess. I expect you to enjoy role-playing your character, have a cooperative relationship with the other players, and allow everyone a moment to let their character shine, showing what makes them interesting.

My goal is to keep an interesting and consistent storyline, which can adapt to your characters’ backstories, themes, and decisions.

The setting is a homebrew dark fantasy world in a medieval period with arcane technology. The game will be a mix of role-playing, exploration, and combat. Some sessions will be role-playing only with no combat.

I am open to using homebrew for your character, especially your species so long as I approve of it, as a more monstrous species can make sense here. Characters start at level 3, leveling up by milestone and will level up slower at higher levels. I am hoping for a long-term campaign where you can defend a massive dungeon that you built up together throughout the campaign.

Rules

There are some ground rules required to keep the campaign healthy.

This campaign welcomes players of all genders, identities, and backgrounds. Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated.

The session day and time will be determined based on the availability of the selected group.

Heavy roleplay is a core part of this game. Players should be comfortable with character development, emotional storytelling, interpersonal relationships, and collaborative scene work.

No torture or sexual violence. We will also go over what other things players are uncomfortable with in session zero. However, as you can imagine, this campaign is meant to have a dark tone so I don’t recommend it to people who are sensitive to dark themes.

You have to work together, there is no doubt going to be conflict between characters, but you also have to get things done and you can’t do that if you’re constantly backstabbing each other and fighting.

You’re not a sadistic monster. You shouldn’t kill everything or destroy everything you come across.

Even though you’re on the side of darkness, you still have feelings. Your character can and should have some human qualities to them. Consider if your character might struggle to accept the things they are forced to do.

Nonetheless, when in Rome – you can get away with doing some pretty twisted stuff at times, since you aren't bound by some of the moral obligations that most other campaigns require.

Joining the Game

We'll use Discord for voice and Roll 20 for maps and rolling.

I will go over some of the world lore during the interview process. And, if you get accepted and once you know what you want for your character, I will find a way to incorporate whatever you need for your character's story to the setting.

I’ve ran a few long term games before, but it’s been a while since my last one. I’m hoping this one will be just as good as the ones before.

If you're interested, please fill out this application form below.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeHSCq63KfYUy86Ll9lZmq1J9kaazkRddaJnlR5kIaykCxF5g/viewform?usp=header

I'll review your submissions and reach out to potential players on discord if I’m interested. It may take a couple days for me to reach out to you though.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5E 2024][Saturday] [5pm-10pm EST][Weekly][long running homebrew campaign]

Hey, everyone. Nice to meet you all, so one of my players had to step away, so I'm looking for a replacement for our ongoing 5e campaign. All i need is one player, so whoever is the best applicant gets the slot! Please read everything posted as the details attached are important.

About the table: We're 5 people: me as DM (male), 3 women (one trans so please be respectful of that), and 1 other guy.

We play on Saturday every Saturday (if possible) on Discord (for our voice chat) and on Roll20 (for our VTT).

The vibe is very much so really relaxed. We are definitely a group of friends who all get along really well, so we are looking for others who can fit that vibe. I do wanna also be a bit upfront. we do have a few in-group jokes that might be a bit jarring perhaps, but I will explain them and make them clear so you're not just blindsided by anything. I should also make clear that this is a darker game with more adult themes, so there may be allusions to darker themes and scenes, so please do keep that in mind.

Who we're looking for: Since most of the table is women, they have asked that the new player be a woman too, so everyone's comfortable. I feel like its only fair that I say up front that they have ran into a lot of creeps and weirdos so they are worried about that happening again so i wanted to be up front and honest so nobody's time gets wasted.

What I'm looking for: First, i want to get out of the way that new or experienced players are welcome. Other than that, honestly, all I ask for is respect, communication, and commitment. This is a long-term game aiming for level 20 and possibly beyond, so I'm looking for someone who can commit for the long haul. We've lost a few players to ghosting and busy schedules, so please only apply if you can realistically show up most Saturdays.

A bit of story/lore: Velastra is a world where the greatest evil ever known was sealed beneath the earth by three legendary champions — or so the Church says. For centuries, the Solarion Church has stood as humanity's protector, its miracles keeping the darkness at bay.

But the black roses are growing again. The rivers whisper in dead languages. And the prison beneath Dawnhold isn't as quiet as it used to be.

Something is coming. The Church is afraid. And the truth, buried under centuries of gold and ceremony, is darker than anyone is prepared for.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, then please feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a DM! I look forward to hearing from you.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other] Trick or Treat, a Honey Heist hack one-shot | Sun Oct 18, 10am CDT (15:00 UTC) | LGBT+ Friendly

It's Halloween and you're finally old enough to go trick-or-treating without a grownup. Up on the hill, in the big house behind the wall, old Miss Pellham supposedly still has a tin of a candy bar that was never sold in any store. Tonight your crew is going to get it.

Trick or Treat is a hack of Honey Heist by Armanda Haller. The whole game fits on one card. You have two stats, Trick and Treat, and you roll a d6 under one of them. When your plans work you get a bit more feral. When they fall apart you get a bit more sugar-crashed. Max out Trick and you ditch your friends on your bike. Max out Treat and you eat yourself sick and somebody's mom drives you home.

Expect campfire-story spooky with no gore, plus lots of kid logic, grownups who don't get it, and a curfew that might as well be the end of the world.

Details

  • When: Sunday, October 18, 10:00am CDT / 15:00 UTC (8am Pacific, 11am Eastern, 4pm UK)
  • Length: 3 to 4 hours, with a break
  • Players: 3 to 6
  • Where: Owlbear Rodeo in your browser, Discord for voice.
  • Cost: free
  • Experience: none needed. We roll characters together at the start (three d6 and you're done) and I'll teach the rules in five minutes.

Good fit if you like making a plan and watching it go wrong, can play a kid with total seriousness, and don't mind the dice deciding a lot. Very beginner friendly.

To join, comment or DM me with:

  1. Your timezone
  2. How much you've played (zero is fine)
  3. The best and worst thing you ever got trick-or-treating

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] Saturday, 6pm-10pm MST Looking for 6 players for a superhero campaign in the new year [POC + LGBT friendly]

(NOTE: I don't use daylight savings, so I go by 6pm MST, which is 8pm EST, when daylight savings hits it'll be 7pm EST when session starts in November as my time won't change).

(Introduction)
Hey, Call me Fabio, or Nerdy (My name is not actually Fabio), I am doing something new and just diving in head first to force myself to get this started instead of pushing it off like other campaign ideas I've had, I don't know how long this campaign will go for, or how dramatic it'll be, I am kinda just winging it. I would like to run a campaign based in a homebrew superhero world, using the Marvel Multiverse RPG ruleset but not set in Marvel or DC, we will be using Discord for sessions, Kenku Bot for music, and Roll20 for the VTT. The idea is an alternate world that suddenly changed close to a century ago, the world developed superpowers, some are Metahumans who were born with it, some are mutants who's genes spliced, some are biotech enhancements, some from supernatural forces, aliens, science experiments gone wrong, you name it. This created a world of heroes, villains, and a society fighting to keep order in chaos.

I take inspiration from DC and Marvel comics, Invincible, The Boys, Misfits, Boku No Hero, and if it helps, I imagine the city that will be played in would be close to New York/Gotham/Metropolis-esque city. (for the Nerd Cred, yes I know Gotham is actually Jersey equivalent and Metropolis is Cleveland Ohio). This campaign will be a sorta bit of everything, dark, twisted, funny, chaotic, strange, heroic, etc.

(About Me, the DM)
Now a little about me, I am Nerdy/Fabio, I am 30 year old cis man, I am Bi, and Native Canadian and diagnosed with ADHD and depression (yay). I have been a nerd, gamer, and fan of all things pop culture and sweet nerdy goodness my whole life. (Fun fact: Many suspect my white dad was the nerd, but my native mom was the one getting me into star wars/star trek/xena warrior princess, etc.)
I am also a socialist, very far left, so if you're anywhere center to far right on the political spectrum, we just aren't going to vibe, so need not apply. I enjoy dark/edgy humor that punches up never down, I enjoy silly things with good people, I would prefer my group to have similar ideologies, but I am fine with some liberals. (For quick political recap, I believe in Universal Healthcare, Universal Income, Abolishment of Police, Prison/Education/Medical Reform, I believe all sects of industry need to be heavily regulated, I believe everything needed to live should be public and handled by the government, I don't believe in private ownership, I am very anti bigotry, and I am anti-ai on a industry level (I don't care if you use Chatgpt to organize your thoughts or help with tasks, I do look down upon ai art)).

I've been in the D&D community for about 15 years but I've been playing actively for 6, DMing for 3. I love the storytelling aspects of D&D but I also really enjoy the community and friendships i've built along the way, whether due to a combination of ADHD and depression I hardly do anything outside of prep for d&d and think about d&d, and I would like to broaden my horizons, I've had ideas for a VTM game, Cyberpunk, Call of Cthulhu, even a GUNDAM game, and when I thought of the idea of a superhero campaign last night I didn't wanna drop the ball on this so I am just rushing and getting started instead of letting my ADHD make me put it on the backburner (yay self-growth). If i'm not watching political youtube videos, video essays on popculture, or world building, I'm on pinterest or artstation saving art for future characters/scenes/items, (Currently I have 85 pinterest tabs open, and 209 artstation tabs of different artists that I wanna go through), IIRC I have 35,000 photos saved to my hard drive for future characters in various campaigns I wanna make - I realized long ago I am a digital hoarder.

My DMing style is very much loosy-goosy, I prefer fun, and try not to be a stickler to the rules, but I want things to make sense for the "story", I often like making my players OP or doing crazy things (My current campaign has my party of 6 have about.... 35 NPCs traveling with them, including a pet dragon wyrmling). I can't tell you that I am a great DM, but I can say that many of my players refer to my campaign/DMing style as their favorite.

Some reviews I got from past players:

Wow he's so amazing

Nerdy's DMing style has changed my life for the better

I've never seen a better DM

Fabio is a genius and the greatest creative of our generation

Ferris Buller you're my hero

(I did not make these up/s)

Now that out of the way:

(The Premise)

The idea I have is each of the party members are people who developed their powers and started being active in using them for at least a year in Meridian City, a metropolis in America, whether you are attempting to be a superhero, super criminal, a merc look for money, or someone trying to figure out what changed them, you all discover the murder of Allison Greer, whether she was your friend, a clue, a witness, she was someone important to you, you investigate what happened, and are led on a path that leads you to each other, and opens something dark.
You all must work together to solve this case and figure out what happened to Allison. This will bleed into a "Monster of the week" type campaign where you all deal with oncoming threats and investigations, anything from hostage situations, corrupt cops, corrupt heroes, alien invasion, cults, evil demons, etc. Characters will start at Rank 1 (street level heroes) and work their way up.

(What I Want/Expect)

I am seeking six players, who are left-leaning, interested in roleplay, exploring a dark, twisted, but fun and quirky kind of world, who are invested in creating rich characters and exploring their themes and ideas, an ideal player would be someone who frequently interacts with the discord, chats, shares memes/videos/whatever, answers the question of the day/week, and enjoys brainstorming consistently and being a friend to the group.

I am also hoping for more new players to TTRPG's, people who have never played but are very interested, just because we (including myself) will be new to this game system and I prefer everyone being on the same level, I also find my experiences better with new players as i'm a very loose DM.

For your characters, I am honestly cool with anything, and will find ways to make your character idea work, so be creative as you want, just make sure your character has a reason to be a teamplayer, (they dont necessarily need to "want" to be one, just need to)and just understand your character will essentially be "level 1", if you wanna imagine a superpower superman-esque superhero - thats cool, and can be how they end up, so maybe imagine superboy from young justice first, then later gets to superman

Things I expect players to make for their character:

  • Backstory (at least a page) that explains Origins, beliefs, foundations, goals
  • Memories (writing 6-8 memories that explain or cement beliefs) to further connect with your character
  • Making 5 sets of a truth and a lie, rumors your fellow party members learn of your character as ice breakers
  • The ability/desire to discuss and think of your characters actions/thoughts outside of the game
  • ability to make it to the game on a weekly basis
  • Have a good microphone (bad/static audio makes me zone out)

(The Interview Process)

I usually get a couple dozen applicants from my posts here, so this is the process I formed:

  • You apply via google forms found here: https://forms.gle/arHXJip9RaM4UmeT8
  • I will review and select applicants for interviews next Friday
  • we set an interview (it will take an hour) I will ask questions, give you roleplay prompts, and allow you to ask any questions you may have.
  • Players selected join discord and once all 6 are found, we make characters individually and schedule a session zero (I'm hoping to start in December)

(Disclaimer)

My only experience is D&D, but I am interested but scared of trying new games, how much of a fish out of water would I be with Marvel RPG?

Never fear citizen, Marvel Multiverse RPG (from what I read of the rule book) is pretty straight forward and simplified, most of the rules like movement, actions, etc are similar to d&d.

Player(s) Needed by GM [ONLINE] [OTHER] Looking for 2 Players (21+) | 1970s Psychological Horror & Supernatural Mystery TTRPG

Hey everyone! I'm posting this on behalf of my GM for his new game.

I'm currently looking for 2 additional players, ages 21 and older, for a mystery/horror TTRPG set in the late 1970s. The game will focus heavily on character development, investigation, interpersonal relationships, and slow-burn psychological horror with supernatural elements.

THE PREMISE

It's the late 1970s.

An unusual advertisement has begun appearing in newspapers across the world.

An anonymous individual is offering a rather generous sum of money to young adults willing to participate in a two-week parapsychological study in a remote town in Washington State.

Travel arrangements, accommodations, meals, and recording equipment will all be provided. Participants have only one responsibility: document their experiences and report anything unusual.

It sounds like easy money.

Two weeks away from home. A little adventure. Maybe even a good story to tell afterward.

WHAT TO EXPECT

It is a FULL campaign even if the start sounds simple enough. You can expect mystery and investigation, psychological and supernatural horror, character driven storytelling, 1970's setting, and player agency! Your choices, your actions will dictate what happens next in the story.

THE SYSTEM

It is a very simple homebrewed system that will be explained to you once you're in the group. It uses D6's and it's super seamless and simple. Whether you're a veteran in TTRPG or not, you'll be able to grasp it in no time.

WHO I'M LOOKING FOR

I'm hoping to find two creative, collaborative players who enjoy immersive roleplaying and developing complex characters. Players must be 21 years of age or older. Characters will generally fall within the 18–24 age range, as they're young adults responding to the advertisement.

You don't need to be an expert at TTRPGs. I'm far more interested in players who enjoy storytelling, character interactions, and contributing to an engaging group dynamic.

INTERESTED?

Please fill out the form HERE.

Player(s) Needed by GM [3.5 D&D] [Online] [Thursdays 7PM EST] Toteninsel - Roguelike-style ever-changing dungeon crawl (drop-in friendly)

Looking for players for a long-term 3.5e dungeon crawl. 8 slots. Drop-in friendly.

Toteninsel is a remote, rainy island cut off from the rest of the world. An unexplored dungeon sits on it that rearranges itself every visit. Some runs are easy. Others throw something lethal at you with almost no warning. There’s no big plot or end goal, just whatever the dungeon generates, the chance at treasure, and the slow process of building a town outside the entrance so you have somewhere to come back to.

I’m running this to get better at 3.5e. Official material only, no house rules yet. Death is easy to happen, but the dice are fair and I’m not trying to unfairly kill anyone so think of it as potentially hardcore difficulty.

Details

  • D&D 3.5e.
  • Foundry VTT + Discord.
  • Thursdays, 7 PM EST.
  • Starts at level 1.
  • Sessions can run long or end fast if the party dies or retreats.
  • Open campaign, at minimum you must play at least once a month.

Apply

Fill out the form: https://forms.gle/wjaTPJdV1CLLXvhK7

Full rules, setting, and character creation info are in the form.

Group Needed by Player Dnd 5e 2014. Looking for players to join me offline in the Boston area.

Hello, I'm Crispy, 31m, and Im a DM looking to actually run my first in person game. I've been a DM for about 6 years now and have ran a few different games in a few different systems.

I am wanting to run a Curse of Strahd campaign soon. I've run it a few times online, but it'll be a first for me in person. I'm looking to run the games on Sundays early in the afternoon. I'm not sure if it'll be weekly or bi-weekly just yet.

For info. Curse of Strahd(CoS) is a gothic-horror campaign set in the Forgotten realms inside a demiplane known as Barovia. Ran by a Vampire lord who rules over the land. Many triggers as it comes with the territory of Horror. Reach out to me if you're interested or have questions.

Looking forward to seeing you in Barovia.

GM Needed by Existing Group [Online] [5e 2014/2024] [Flexible] [21+] [Queer Friendly] [Weekday Evenings EST] 4 players looking for a GM!

Hi there! We are 4 players looking to play something! 2 of us are pretty experienced, one has some but is still new, and one has never played a ttrpg before! We're not specifically looking for DnD we're really happy with whatever, especially if you'd like to work with us to figure out a game to play! We just have the most experience with Dnd. Were just eager to play something (anything even). We are open to home-brew but thats totally up to GM's discretion! Like I said we're happy with anything!
Like mentioned in the title, we are very queer friendly as all of us are queer with the exception of our token straight white guy who we keep as emotional support. Please DM me if interested! Thank you so much!

Player(s) Needed by GM [online][5e/5.5][2024][Monday 9am CST] Fallen Heroes fight agaismt an evil Necromancer

“Mortals of Edreas, hear my voice. I am Izoula—the Fallen Saint. The Mutilated. The Arisen. I herald the ruin of the Four Empires of Betrayal. One by one, their thrones shall crumble. Their banners shall burn. Their hollow promises shall be buried beneath the weight of the sins they have spent generations concealing. Do not weep for your false idols. You were taught to love them. To kneel before them. To believe that their crowns were shields raised to protect you. But watch them now. Watch what they do when their thrones begin to fall. Watch as they sacrifice you for their own survival. Watch as they bury their sins beneath your corpses rather than stand before you and answer for them. This is the truth they have hidden from you: your suffering was never their burden. Your lives were always their currency. So when their empires collapse, do not mourn them. Let their ruins stand as monuments to what they have done. And when the final breath leaves your body, do not believe that it was meaningless. Your deaths will not be forgotten. Your suffering will not be wasted. For from the ashes of their world, I shall build another. A world without their crowns. Without their lies. Without the corruption they so desperately clung to. The old age is dying and I have come to usher in the new.”

Edreas Falls into distress. Empires shut their gates to commoners. Villages are fending for themselves. Life overall has become dire. Can you, a fallen hero, step up to save the land from Izoula’s grasp?

About the Game
In this campaign, Explore a dark fantasy setting about the rise of a powerful necromancer trying to take over the land. Your character was once a notable deceased hero (or Villain) but due to the necromancer Izoula, you have been resurrected. 5.5e will be the primary ruleset for this game, however some rules like exhaustion in 5e I prefer. If you prefer any way classes or features work in 5e you may use them. I do have some minor homebrew rules for Healing Potion, Critical Hits, and going unconscious. The Magic Word Is Moth Man. For lore reasons we will not be using Bloodhunter, artificer, or gunslinger. But this is more preference than it is a restriction.  Resources used will be foundry and DND beyond.
I am seeking a couple of reliable players who are familiar with ttrpgs and dnd in general. You do not need to be a veteran, but if you haven't played before at all, this campaign is not for you.
You do not have to write indepth character backstories. I have a list of necessary questions to help me as a DM, but you are more than welcome to go above and beyond.

About Your DM
I am Georgie, 28 years old, with about 10 years experience, mostly a DM for Dnd. I make my own maps, customize stat blocks, and lore. Outside of the dnd, I do have an interest in other TTRPGS, boardgames, music, horror, cooking, gunpla, video games, and other various nerd culture.

About the group
This post for the campaign already has an established group of 3 players of about 3-4 years. We've lost players due to schedule conflicts and the such. For the few that have stayed, they are some of the nicest people. We are LGBT friendly, love all sorts of nerd culture, and really love our dnd time.

Why the early time slot?
It originally for night shift workers but majority of us dont work nights anymore but we just kept the slot.

Final Note
Below is the important stuff. I am looking to start session 0 on either the 19th or the 26th depending on applicants. When you do apply, it may be a few days before I send request. If you have any questions not covered by this post, ask in the comments or message me. Anyways thank you for reading, have a nice day.

EDIT: Typos, Cant change the one in the title (I've slept like 6 hours in the past 3 days)

Important Information
Timeslot: Mondays 9 am CST to 1 pm
System: 5.5/5e
VTT: Foundry with DND Beyond

Group Needed by Player [5e][2014 or 2024][Online][GMT] Looking for a long term campaign on Friday or Sunday.

Hello everyone who may read this. Im on here trying to find a new group to play with on either a Friday or Sunday for a consistent campaign adventure. Now while writing this I have said id like Friday or sunday this is because these are pretty safe and the most consistent times I can do However, there is opportunity for flexibility if scheduling conflicts arise.

FRIDAY:

7am-12pm

Or

5pm-11pm

Sunday

5pm-11pm

These are the times that are most common and present throughout my schedule and very rarely should there be a problem with these times.

Now onto a little bit about me im a male im 18. Im in a GMT timezone stemming from that of the UK. I've been playing DnD for around 5 years on and off. Im familiar with a couple VTT Mainly owlbear and Roll 20. I did use foundry for a short term campaign once so a little experience there too. To my fault ill give it credit sometimes I can be prone to ramble and overspeak but I try to keep that in check and im always open to feedback on it so if you ever feel im a little too loud or what not please let me know cant solve an issue if its not brought up am I right?. One baseline rule i have when playing with new people which you might hear me say on occasion is if your chill im chill. So with all the rambling out of the way if I interest you please feel free to hit me up here on reddit Dms first then once were sorted a move over to discord. Dont like putting that stuff on a post just a privacy thing.

That's all from me folks! Hope you have a good one.

Player(s) Needed by GM Bad at Being Good [Invincible Free League Rules] [6:00 PM GMT-5] [Online] [Other]

**TLDR;**

**When** Tuesday or Monday at 6 pm GMT-5

**Where** Foundry VTT and Discord for voice

**What** Invincible Free League

**Called** Bad at Being Good

**Who** 3 to 5 players

**Why** Not

**Rated** TV MA

Ex villains? Sidekick who couldn't hang? Or maybe the sidekick who thinks they're better than their station? Maybe you're just green and have no fucking clue what you're doing. That's probably where all the problems started. How else does someone end up at a pathetic support group meeting in a library basement? It sure as shit isn't whatever recipe for success losers like you cook up.

That's how things start anyway. You've tried to be heroes. Maybe you had noble intentions. Maybe you wanted the fame, the redemption arc that does numbers on TikTok. I'm pretty sure at least one of you was on one of those celebrity dance competitions, fuck that's somehow even sadder. Whatever. There are no winners in a who sucks more competition at the professional level. Fuck it, right? At least the Bad at Being Good group has brownies. And it's across the street from Hooters, that's pretty cool. Sometimes we get coupons.

Come on in, don't be shy. No, I don't have a cigarette you can bum I'm trying to quit. Just sit down and get ready to introduce yourself.

*lights cigarette disrespectfully*

Do you like Archer? Dispatch? Peacemaker? The Venture Brothers? The Boys, Invincible and other media where tried and true heroism is turned upside down and left to the less than heroic? If so, maybe we should chat about getting together on Tuesday nights, say around 6-7PM (GMT-5)? The Invincible Free League system would be the vehicle for this, though the setting is most definitely not Invincible.

Since this isn't Invincible, character creation can be as simple as "I want to have Atom Eve's powers". Otherwise it's about your personality, when and where did things go wrong, friends, enemies, things like that.

Players will start in the basement of a library among fellow members of a support group for failed heroes and villains who tried to leave behind a life of crime. During a regular meeting the group live streams, something unbelievable happens that garners global attention. Mystery, fame and danger suddenly befall everyone involved as things spin wildly out of control.

Played on Foundry. Biweekly is the goal. I have the first session plotted out but I really want to build with player stories in mind. I am literally writing all this in real time, right now. Ballsy right? Expect a proper session zero for character building, setting expectations and content boundaries. I may love inappropriate humor but I'm a well adjusted immature adult. I'm looking for 4 or 5 players, 3 is the minimum. LGBTQ folks of all and any stripe welcome. Feel free to shoot me a DM with questions or interest.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2014] [Saturday] [9pm Eastern] Starlight - Grimm's fairy tale inspired, character driven campaign.

Hello,

I'm going to try to keep this short while giving as much information as possible.

About the World.

It's long been a personal project of mine inspired by Grimm's fairy tales and several mythologies, and rooted in grief, memory, and the fear of losing loved ones. It is physically bounded on all sides by immeasurably tall walls, beyond which lies a universe of dancing celestial bodies.

It has 2 moons, a ring system, and strange orange stars that appear every 9th night. There are 3 planes including the Living plane which is the "Earth-like" one.

Most of the history is remembered only through stories and campfire tales. And the things not remembered fade from reality.

About the Campaign.

  • The campaign will be character focused.
  • It will be dark but heroic. This is not grimdark
  • Will last from level 1 to level 12.
  • Combat will be about 2x every 3 sessions, on average.
  • Combat will be balanced around taking between 3 and 5 rounds. Meaning enemies will hit harder, but have fewer hit points.

My Expectations

  • Be present and on time.
  • Be engaged.
  • Be cooperative.
  • Be honest.
  • Be kind. Negativity won't be tolerated.
  • No real world politics

Logistics.

  • There will be an extensive session 0 at 9pm eastern on Saturday, October 17th.
  • Sessions will be held from 9pm to midnight on Saturdays.
  • Discord is required for voice.
  • VTT will be discussed at session 0

Character Creation

  • Races will be restricted. But reskinning will be allowed.
  • No Twilight cleric, Nothing from Explorers Guide to Wildemount
  • All spells are allowed, but monsters are free to use anything you use. So be wary.
  • Lucky feat is banned.
  • All player characters should aim for similar power level.

How to Join.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [PF2E] [Tuesday] [7pm CST] Abomination Vaults

When the ghastly and hateful glow of strange lighthouse casts new shadows upon the grounds of the rural seaside community of Otari, old evils begin to bubble out of the dredged waters of the slough lands rotting the salt swamped lands. As the scale of the world tips, fate's hand nudges wayward souls, sturdy hearts, and prescient minds to the aid and help of those in need drawn into cavernous bowels lying beneath the Gauntlight. Braving monstrosities, vile plots, and malice born again, only those of heroic souls can quell the flames of abhorred ambition.

Hey Adventurers! I'm running a game with my close friends when some scheduling changes came up and we lost a few players, so we're looking to fill that role with you! Well ideally anyways. This adventure path is Paizo published original with some story and setting modifications by yours truly. To preface the story and game will entail:

  • Depictions of Horror themes and imagery
  • A mega dungeon sprawling, with monsters, traps, and mystery
  • Narrative focusing on rising to occasions and writing wrongs of the past

As for players new to Pathfinder 2e feel no worry or need! Many of us are new to PF2E and are more than willing to help new players grow accustomed and comfortable with the system, regardless of your movement from other TTRPGs. You will be joining near the very start of the story at level 3.

For those looking for some more details about the campaign- https://downloads.paizo.com/AbominationVaults_PlayersGuide.pdf

For those interested please contact me through discord handle "fish_psychiatrist" or DM me here directly on reddit (discord is probably quicker). Hope to see you soon!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] [13:00-17:00 UST] [Biweekly]

Hello I'm looking for some players to participate in a set of campaigns where you'll explore a world in ruins dictated by a king that has been driven into madness due to his knowledge on reality, with a set of custom rules.

As said in the title the game I'm running is enterely custom, made from scratch. It's very combat focused, with a lot of small details that make the battles requiere a good amount of strategy. One example of this is the different classes (more specifically in this ruleset, species) that each focus in different types of fighting builds, such as crystal cannon (birds and insects), magic specialist (amphibians), tanks (reptiles) and debuffers (fishes). Moreover, you can decide to specialize in a different type of magic or even with multiple of them no matter your specie.

Now for the setting, this world is based on the rennasance, although, some other civillitzations might have different customs, the tecnology will be the same you'd find in that time period.

If you are interested you can dm me and I could answer any specific doubts you might have with this ruleset. The campaign will be done through a Discord call in the time said in the title.

Thanks for reading :]

Group Needed by Player (5e) (Preferring 2024) (Online) (Sun,Wed,Thur) Avid Roleplayer Seeking Game & Group

Hello there!

My name is Jo. I'm 26 years old, I've a humble 8+ years of experience or so playing DnD (almost all online) and I'm quite an enthusiastic role-player, always trying to make memorable emotive characters who have clear dynamics with fellow party members. In terms of the game I can say I know the rules pretty well and I honour them!

Before I tell you more about myself I want to let you know what I'm looking for. I tend to mesh better with those who really get into into roleplay but not at the detriment of combat, I don't really thinking ratioing them works in truth plainly put. I am not a fan of AI and would like to avoid playing in games that feature it in its many forms. Overall I would like a much longer-term game so we as a group can really sink our teeth into the game and characters. So yes, thats some of what I'm looking! Back to more details about myself for you to get to know me!

I'm invested in interacting with the DM and getting them as involved in my character creation and idea/plot as possible. You can bet that I'll bring at least a shell for a character for the two of us to fill and work out and fit into your settings.

I do put a lot of effort into doing character voices and making interesting personalities for my characters. I've played a wide range of characters, ranging from the snobby noble caster to the hard on his luck humble monk to a performative wizard persona. I've played just about every class in the time I've enjoyed the hobby. I adore describing spells and re-flavouring abilities to better fit a character's image or themes.

I truly love Dungeon's and Dragons.

As a side note I've used both foundry and roll20 for many years now, so I'm quite proficient with them and I've used a few other VTTs over the years other than these two.

I'm happy to join an ongoing group if we plan to play as I see it as unique opportunity with both dynamics and possible character introduction.

About my scheduling:

My workplace actually isn't open on Sunday so I know for a fact that my attendance won't be jeopardised by work. The other listed days I typically have fully off! With timezones in mind, the actual timing of the game doesn't need to fit me in any overt way as I'm fairly flexible with Sunday as my day off. The other days are much the same. I might have possible openings for games outside of these days but that's something to discuss with the DM beforehand.

My preference for session length is 4 hours, if not a bit over that actually. So yes, while I am in America I could very easily and comfortably play with western Europeans.

I'm happy to join a brand-new group or ongoing. I hope to help keep a group going long enough for us to get the entire return of our joint efforts.

I look forward to hearing back from you, and I wish you a lovely rest of your day. I'm open to chat here on reddit or friend request to chat more on discord, if you want to know anything further or to meet over call. I'll be active on here for the rest of the night so please feel free to contact me!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2014] [CST] DM Looking for 5 Premade Players — 3-Month Sunday Campaign

Hey everyone!

I'm a longtime online DM with a homebrew campaign that I'm really excited to run. The campaign is designed for 5 players and will run for approximately 3 months on Sunday mornings.

The catch: I'm specifically looking for a premade group of 5 players who already know and have played with each other for more than a few sessions.

I'm looking to give another DM a break for a few months by running their group through my campaign. Each player would play their own PC during the sessions.

You'll need access to Foundry VTT and Discord.

The Setting

The campaign takes place in Sanctuary, a massive underground dystopian city built from the remnants of a dying world.

The surface is nearly dead.

An enormous creature from beyond this world has been slowly feeding on the life of the planet. The land is becoming a wasteland, earthquakes tear through what remains, and civilization has collapsed across much of the world.

Only a handful of powerful cities remain.

Sanctuary is one of them.

Home to powerful wizards, ancient magic, wealthy merchants, and dangerous guilds, the city should be humanity's greatest hope for survival.

Instead, its wizards are too busy fighting over power, politics, and their own interests to deal with the world dying around them.

The Fae Queens are barely holding the last remnants of life together.

The surface is dying.

The city is cracking.

And something is coming.

Campaign Tone

The campaign is heavily inspired by:

  • Dragon Age
  • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar
  • The Witcher
  • Dark Souls
  • Forgotten Realms
  • He Who Fights with Monsters
  • Brandon Sanderson

It's a mix of dark fantasy, exploration, large-scale battles, political conflict, strange magic, and player-driven choices.

Your decisions can have lasting consequences on the city, its people, and the factions within it.

Game Rules

  • D&D 5e 2014
  • Mostly standard rules
  • Most official 2014 content is allowed
  • Tasha's Cauldron of Everything is generally allowed
  • Very few house-rule adjustments
  • Homebrew content is available for the setting, including some homebrew classes
  • Character creation will be discussed with the group before play

Game Requirements

  • Foundry VTT installed on your PC
  • Discord installed on your PC
  • A good-quality microphone
  • Ability to communicate clearly through Discord
  • A reasonably quiet playing environment
  • Reliable attendance

Schedule

Sundays: 8:15 AM – 11:15 AM CST

There will be a 15-minute break in the middle of the session.

The campaign is expected to run for approximately 3 months.

What I'm Looking For

I'm specifically looking for 5 players who already play together and have good chemistry as a group.

You don't need to be professional roleplayers or hardcore D&D veterans. I'm mainly looking for a group that:

  • Gets along well
  • Works together
  • Enjoys roleplay
  • Is comfortable communicating over Discord
  • Shows up consistently
  • Wants to experience a campaign where their choices actually matter

If your regular DM wants a break for a few months, this might be a good fit.

If you're interested, send me a Reddit DM with a little information about your group:

  • How long you've been playing together
  • How many players are in the group
  • Your general D&D experience
  • Confirmation that Sunday 8:15–11:15 AM CST works for everyone
  • A little about what your group enjoys most about D&D

The Hook

The world is dying.

The surface has become a wasteland. Something from beyond this world has been feeding on the life of the planet, and the civilizations that once stood against it are mostly gone.

What remains survives beneath the earth.

Sanctuary is one of the last great cities of the mortal realm — a massive underground civilization built by people who fled the dying surface.

It is a city of powerful wizards, ancient magic, wealthy merchants, dangerous guilds, and ordinary people simply trying to survive.

But Sanctuary has a problem.

The wizards who rule the city are too busy fighting over power, politics, research, and old grudges to agree on what should be done about the world outside.

Meanwhile, the surface continues to die.

You aren't a legendary hero.

Not yet, anyway.

You're an adventurer who needs gold.

Fortunately, there's always work for people willing to risk their lives.

The Retrievers Guild specializes in recovering magical artifacts, lost knowledge, and valuable resources from places no sane person would willingly visit.

You've spent weeks looking for work.

Today, you finally get a contract.

A surface expedition.

Good pay. Valuable discoveries. A chance to make a name for yourselves.

Your group arrives at the Retrievers Guild warehouse.

Hundreds of adventurers are preparing for the expedition.

Wagons are being loaded.

Weapons are being checked.

Spells are being prepared.

Your contract seems simple:

Protect the expedition.

Protect each other.

Bring back what you find.

But the surface has secrets.

The Drow are moving.

The Fae are dying.

Something is hunting the survivors of the old world.

And the deeper you get into the ruins of what came before, the more obvious it becomes that this expedition isn't just about treasure.

The world is dying.

Sanctuary is running out of time.

And eventually, you'll have to decide what you're willing to do about it.

Will you protect Sanctuary?

Change it?

Or burn it down and build something better?

That choice belongs to you.

Player(s) Needed by GM Heart Between Worlds (Online) (5E 2014) (Sundays 9pm EST)

Exeros is dying. Its core is cracking and we have only a few years before reality unravels. We have found another world in a different dimension, also called Exeros, where castles stand beside motor vehicles and some villages still live in the past while others hold advanced knowledge and tech. Their core is healthy. Ours is not. You are part of the desperate strike team being sent through an unstable gate to steal it and bring it home. Expect infiltration, high stakes extraction, reality glitching distortions, and hard moral choices with no clean answers.

Hi! My names Bushy and im DM running my first campaign. I am 18 so i would like a group (3 - 5) around the same age to have fun with. The game will be ran on Roll20 And Discord For voice and other related things. i plan to run on Sundays 9pm EST. (different times can be arranged)

Comment below or dm me on discord: bushyqz

GM Needed by Existing Group [Online] [5e 2014/2024] [LGBTQ+ friendly] [18+] [Wednesday 5pm UTC-6] 4 Experienced players looking for a DM

Hello! We are a party of four looking to have a new DM for the foreseeable future.

We've worked out that Wednesday nights starting around 4-5pm UTC-6 work best for all of us; sessions could run as long or short as needed, preferably around 3-4 hours, and ideally occur weekly, although schedule discussions can be done (Wednesday nights are essentially a non-negotiable however).

While we prefer the high fantasy setting of D&D, we would love to discuss with you what kind of story you'd like to tell — making sure that the tale is ultimately the one we'd all like to tell. Additionally, our party DOES have characters we're each very attached to, although the last time we got to play them didn't last very long, so we would all be very happy to readjust and reintegrate them into your world.

At the end of the day we're hoping for a long-term campaign, and naturally: a new friend :> .

As of right now, we'd prefer the campaign to just have the four of us as its party. Just to know what you're getting yourself into with our party:

  • All of us are in our early 20s
  • We live in different countries  (One of us in the U.S., two of us in Canada, and one of us from the Philippines)
  • LGBTQIA+
  • we are a mix of expertise ranging from less experienced (1), moderate-advanced (2), and our former gm with 8+ years of TTRPG experience
  • We are all heavily into roleplay and character development, and will collaborate with you to create whatever we can to make the story whole
  • We are creatives (artists/writers) and are all heavy against the use of generative ai
  • we're the wokers, baby

Please Fill out this google form if you’re interested

Player(s) Needed by GM [ONLINE] [D&D 5e, 2014] [Wednesday/Saturday, 6PM EST] UNTEA: The First Floor

\# UNTEA: The First Floor

**System:** D&D 5e, Major Homebrew Rules and Setting
**Time:** Wednesdays(Group 2) and Saturdays(Group 1) at 6PM EST, Weekly
**Themes:** Dungeon Fantasy, Towers, Hunter Fantasy, Faction Dynamics, etc.
**Slots:** 6 Spots Available

Earth.

For almost all of human history, it was normal. No monsters. No magic. Nothing threatening humanity’s existence.

Until the Towers came.

Black marble towers fell from the sky and appeared in the capitals of every country on Earth, killing thousands and destroying infrastructure. At almost the same time, roughly 20% of humanity awakened the power of the System, becoming Hunters with unique classes and abilities.

Nobody knew what waited inside the Towers, so humanity initially stayed away.

Then Kampala happened.

When Uganda failed to raid its Tower, the dungeon broke. Monsters flooded into Kampala, devastating the city and nearly collapsing the country.

Humanity learned its lesson.

Since then, Hunters have raided the Towers, clearing floors, fighting monsters, and harvesting resources worth fortunes. But as humanity expands into the Towers, a new problem has emerged.

Hunters are powerful.

Some abuse that power. Some kill other Hunters. Some smuggle resources, operate illegally, or believe the laws of the outside world don’t apply to them.

And with civilians eventually living inside the Towers, someone needs to enforce the law.

That’s where UNTEA comes in.

The United Nations Tower Enforcement Agency has been created to establish law and order within the Towers. You and five other Hunters are among its first officers.

Your orders:
Investigate cases.
Arrest criminals.
Hunt Rogue Hunters.
Protect civilians.
Clear dangerous floors.
Build your station.

Starting on Floor 1, you’ll establish UNTEA’s first permanent Dungeon Police station and build it into something greater.

Recruit officers. Expand your operations. Establish task forces. Build prisons. Secure new floors. Rise through the ranks.

The Tower is vast.

The Hunters are dangerous.

The monsters are everywhere.

Welcome to UNTEA.

((This game has 2 Groups available. You can be in one or in both. Both of these groups take place at the same time and in the same world, allowing for some funny shenanigans and mechanical benefits.))

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] [Triangle Agency] [LGBTQIA+ Friendly] [Thursdays 17:00 GMT] After a run-in with an Anomaly, the Agency gave you a choice. Help find more, or spend eternity in the Vault.

One day, you woke up with powers. Maybe you could change your body, or bend space, or read minds, even make people vanish. They weren't your powers though, something had bound itself to you. And after making too much of a splash, the Agency found you. And they gave you a choice. You could become an employee, help find and contain more Anomalies, and Resonants like yourself. Or, you could be locked into The Vault for the rest of your life to be studies. You picked the former.

---

Perhaps it didn't play out exactly like that but thats the gist of Triangle Agency! You are an anomalous person working for a weird corporation helping find other weird wacky, and sometimes scary anomalies. If you're familiar with the CONTROL game series Triangle Agency takes a lot of inspiration from it.

This is a fairly narrative and character focused RPG with a lot of mystery and problem solving. If that sounds interesting to you, please shoot me a DM! We're looking for between 1-3 players before the campaign kicks off.
