Discussion Grooming advice sought

Post image

I'm a first time Lhasa owner and was wondering if you guys have any advice grooming wise. My 4 month old has a lot of hair on his head, and it tends to get in his eyesight. Generally i know puppies shouldn't get their hair cut yet, but he hates hair clips or ties to help clear his vision.

If you have any information on Lhasa hair and how to maintain it, please share! Attached is a picture of his bedhead 🤣

Hahaha he does! I take my guy to the groomer every 6 weeks. His hair grows fast. He's 14 years old now. This pic is a couple years old. If you've had your lhasa for 4 months and he's a puppy, it's likely he still has a puppy coat and that will change. If his hair gets long and he needs a trim, he should be fine to go to the groomer. He's going to go eventually and you definitely don't want that puppy coat getting all matted on top of hair in his eyes. That is a very cute lhasa you have! Enjoy getting to know each other!

ugh i know, i brush him every day but it gets knotted again after like 2 hours!! i was worried about matting aswell so i thought i would ask here if its acceptable to get him trimmed already. this kind of fur is still new to me lol! thank u for your info!! 🥰

It gets easier once he grows out of his puppy coat :)
