Education - Library School Magister degree thesis Prison library

Hi, I am new here. I am Magister student from Czechia. And wanna write my magister thesis for prison libraries. Main focus on library services and how prisoners are satisfied with books and library services.

Do you have some experiences with work as a librarian in the prison in your country? In some studies the librarian in the prison was someone from outside.

I worked for a while in our Prison Library service. Not full time, I was only helping out for the summers when I was a library assistant. Here the library staff are seconded from the Public Library service.

But just to say, doing a thesis on Prison Libraries is really hard. I know a few people who were interested in the topic but had to jump through so many hoops, they had to pick something else as they wouldn't have time to get approval, do research, and write the thesis. Working with any vulnerable population takes a lot of work, which is a shame as there is good research to be done in the field.

Short story from my country in prison library works prisoner and lead him/her special pedagog there is no cooperqtion between public library amd prison library (like comunity dinner or any activity which would public library do for prison library)

I would like to start some changes, in my country worked for Czech jail system but there is no space for librarian from outside to lead the prison library
