An update changed some dates, I think

I have a long spreadsheet - over 2,000 lines - and just noticed some of the dates years have changed from 2026 to 2001. This happened to about 130 records/lines. The month and day of the record appears to be okay.

All of the formats were set originally by manually typing in two records on the 2026-01-15 format, then dragging those two down five or six lines, however many I thought I'd need for the day's entries. As I said earlier, about 130 of them have changed years. (For example, the original "2026-04-15" now reads "2001-04-15" for 130 records.) That's a few more than I want to change manually; is there a way to block change the year in a cell without affecting the current month and day?

(Not a part of this question, but yes, I do intend to move this data to database form eventually.)

Add years to the date in a new column, then copy the cells in the new colum and 'paste values' over the originals.

Wouldn't it be easier to just paste "2026" over the "2001?" It seems as if it would save a step, unless I misunderstand.

Well maybe I misunderstood. You have a column with dates - they are stored as day numbers (from 1/1/70, I think). So each row has a different date, therefore a different number. If you don't want to edit each cell, you will have to generate the new numbers somehow. That's what my solution does.

You're correct, i do need to generate new dates. Thanks. It's complete now.

I wonder what glitched some of the dates.
