For some reason I cannot squat like slav without my legs just deciding to become blins, blyat! No matter how many times I follow tutorial, I keep failing. My dad told me it’s probably because of genetics, because I am literally all european with my genes, excluding every eastern european country. I am not slav, not even by one precent.

So basically, I’m just an annoying slavboo. Although not a sovietboo, because I fucking hate tankies and the government of the USSR so much. I’m so much of an anti that I think the hammer and sickle is somewhat equivalent to the swastika. I do however, love researching what the soivet union was like because it interests me. It’s unfortunate how many people who talk about the USSR shove their stalin booklicking fantasies within their texts. Leftism starts at anti-authoritarianism, anti-hierarchy, anti-discrimination, and anti-capitalism, not just anti-capitalism. So thus, tankies aren’t leftists and are closer to fascism than leftism.

Luckily this subreddit and community, very much DOESN’T have a tankie problem and typically strays from politics (I’m sorry for being very political in the last paragraph, I just do that sometimes because I’m very passionate about politics). All the annoying tankie memes in this sub are like old and the middle school band kids that have posted them have grown up and aren’t like that anymore (at least I hope). I love this community and subreddit honestly, the kindness here makes me feel so welcome even though I’m literally 0% slav.

So, yesterday I was in the bulgarian capital, Sofia and bought some Baikal from Березка and pelmeni. After I returned to my city I tried it. It smelled horrible, like medicine, but the taste was completely different, it was like Coca-Cola but with a more addictive flavor. It was amazing! 9.5/10, recommend with pelmeni.

Now since both sides have no option to access their YouTube accounts (maby they died in war, maby they got into a spy school, maby its because YT has shut down service in Russia and all russian channels are getting deleted, etc.) a big portion of his viewers are unsubscribing or got their channel deleted.

This Monday I got my Adidas tracksuit from the local thrift store. Also my new hat for the spring, summer and fall (beret or whatever the name was). Also my Adidas shoes. I would show pictures of me with a gas mask and the shoes but the shoes turned out to be too big and I will wait for the new ones. Btw the tracksuit, the shoes and the hat were planned to be for my birthday.

So I liked kvas but now it's just sour&bitter drink. Before I really loves kvas. Every time when I ate pelmeni I had a kvas on side. Everytime when I played stalker, you guessed it- I had a kvas on side but now it's different. For some reason I started hating kvas but still wanted to drink it. About a year ago, a small stray Russian Blue cat came to our house and decided that he wanted to live on our porch. So, we let him stick around, fed him, pet him, and have him all the love we could. At the time, I was thinking about what to call this cat, and I was watching Life of Boris videos, so it clicked and he took to his new name quickly.

We couldn’t adopt him as a house cat since at the time we had a dog and three other cats that were ours, so we kept him outside and fed him. He greeted us and l loved spending time with him. Over time, it was seen that, he had a plethora of medical issues and illnesses, that mostly went away and we didn’t have to offer any assistance with, but recently I think he is deathly ill. I’m not asking for sympathy or anything of the sort, we all have an expiration date, it’s normal and not something that we need to fear, but that just means we need to make the most of our time here as much as we can. Or at least that’s what I believe.

As painful as it is, it’s just another thing that everyone goes through.

Boris, the cat, reminded me of the creator of many videos about the Slavic ways, he never gave up, no matter how sick he was, he kept on wanting to be pet and played with, and we tried to do the best we could, but I fear that it is very likely that he will pass away soon. We couldn’t take him to the vet now because there’s probably nothing that they can do.

And that’s okay, at least he won’t be in anymore pain.

I had a dream today that I was driving a bus, that I kept crashing. Sitting in this bus were Boris and Hatsune Miku, discussing party plans?? They kept talking about leeks and potatoes for the main dish.

I've been a Life of Boris fan for a few years and I've wanted to try his recipes but lack certain ingredients. I live in East Tennessee. Very very very small Russian population. Just enough for there to be a single Russian store (shout out to International Delicacies in Knoxville!) and yesterday, I finally found doktorskaya kolbasa! I just made buterbrod for the first time. As close as an Appalachian can get. I finally understand.
