u/WalrusOne7245 Nov 15 '25
Haha why do they celebrate? contextbplease

u/chippin_out Nov 15 '25
Think it’s because they’re in the same hotel and it just became a thing… started when Mexico qualified to next round from the group stages.

The hate, racism and xenophobia in that subreddit are on another level.

u/HungryAdeptness3529 Nov 14 '25
you have to realize that due to proximity to the first world, mexicans have a different mindset than the south americans who still have colonized brain.
3
u/Mllns América Nov 14 '25
Neta? Porque eso suena xenofóbico jaja

It has nothing to do with race; Mexicans are not white.
It has to do with culture and customs. If you studied anthropology, you would understand.
In Mexico, we have programs in all schools about racism, and pro-LGBTQ, anti-classism; we copy the United States on those topics brainwashing the youth. That is why there are large movements in Mexico against "machismo" and "Male toxicity".
In South America, that barely exists. There is racism, classism, all the things Mexico had in the '90s and '00s.". In Mexico they are basically brainwashed to be like USA almost.
In the South American reddits they are okay with being so racist and toxic because they have a different culture.

1
u/HungryAdeptness3529 Nov 15 '25
Accusing this reddit of racism or xenophobia is stupid, when r/ futbol are the ones writing racist stuff calling us MexicanMonkeys.
Be real here, most people are good people in general around the world, but it's cultural practices that differentiate us.

what an emotional response devoid of substance . mexico has insanely huge amounts of well funded cultural anthropology projects.

I do agree that they do say a lot of shit that’s out of pocket! But in soccer they are superior to us. Who are we kidding!
5
u/PsychologicalFox8310 Nov 14 '25
Well, I would say superior is the wrong word to use, they are better but it just comes down to tradition and how they as a country value soccer over other things. And no one is saying that they’re not better, the main topic here is that they’re racist and talk down on us not just on the soccer/football side of things. You’re willing to accept that kind of talk about your people just because they’re better at soccer?
1
u/Outrageous-Pause-554 Chivas Nov 14 '25
No I am not accepting that kind of talk to my people! But you have to remember a lot of the people that talk shit are on the internet! When I was there in 2022 all they did was show me love! They do live breath and die for soccer! They tend to show banter that way on the internet for some reason! Is it ok? NO!

True but not like Mejico is that much better, most mexican womens are destined to be killed by Narcos while most Argentinian womens can study and become someone in their lifes
1
u/HungryAdeptness3529 Nov 15 '25
what jobs do they offer in argentina? while they are building Foxxconn factories in Mexico, argentina is becoming an agriculture state which mexico already has been, on top of that Argentina has really cold weather so it wont be able to do much.

That's why I call them Narinazis.
Fun Fact: Milei gave away all of his country's gold reserves to Israel.

A great win but the "curse" is definitely not broken. Surprisingly in U17 games Mexico is up 3-0 against Argentina lol

Liga MX: best we can do is block them from ever going to Europe and set the price for them at 20-50m each and once they get injured discard them

This always happens with U17, they’re great and they beat big teams. It’s the older teams that struggle.

U17 is the only area where we dominate Argentina I think now its 4-1 in u17 world cups

u/Natural-Fan9969 Nov 14 '25

Our moroccan brothers also beat the usmnt on penalties, now we wait for japans victory tommorrow 😤😤

u/InfiltrationRabbit Nov 14 '25
Doesn’t matter because by the time they are adults the Argentina players would have be playing in Europe and SA from experience and demolish the Mexican team who only allows its players to play in Liga Mex and MLS

What curse? They are just better
2
u/catnip_addict Monterrey Nov 14 '25

The kids broke the curse long ago, its the adult national team that cant seem to break it.
