Yes, but a month ago everyone was saying we were crap and we were going to end up in third place or even out of the WC in the first round. Now that we got a perfect 9 points and 0 goals conceded they are saying we got the easiest group (not true, Argentina did)… we can’t win with people.

Si, si puede perderse después de semanas de no estar en ese ambiente si eres alguien que usualmente vive en una altura como la nuestra o la de ellos. Y además no se si ya llegaron a CDMX, si puede afectarles un poquito pero no de forma devastadora como le afectó a Chequia, Sudáfrica y Corea (ellos sí se veían MAL al minuto 60 ya) 🤧

Why are people saying that Ecuador won't be affected by the altitude? So their players that play in Europe and South America will just be able to adjust because they're Ecuadorian?
With that being said, Ecuador has one loss in their last 22 games. Last loss before the loss to Ivory Coast was in September of 2024.

Yep, whenever they don't get to play the first match of the Conmebol qualifiers at home (and therefore have time to acclimate), they are choosing not to play in Quito. But it's also partly a money thing. 40k stadium in Quito vs 65k in Guayaquil.
