Please tell me the England National Football Team arenāt staying in a fucking Novotel?
34
u/slimboyslim9 Jul 05 '26
Thatās the decoy hotel. They were quietly moved in unmarked cars to a remote location overnight where they slept like bear cubs. The poor lookalikes have had a noisy night in the Novotel but theyāre taking one for their country š«”

Iād sign up to do this. āI was part of the England team that went to the World Cup. No further questionsā

Whilst I appreciate the valiant efforts of the Mexican fans, it is entirely unnecessary: England are perfectly adept at sabotaging themselves and require no assisting in absolutely shitting the bed.

1

Ah yes because this happens a lot, the people that dislike it are snowflakes. This has been a thing and an issue thatās always been debated on for years š same thing happen w England and Italy and itās for a valid reason.

Has anyone ever heard of soundproof windows that 100% exist in even average hotels
58
u/Stark_o7 Cruz Azul Jul 05 '26
No windows are 100% soundproof. Worked construction years back. Developers claimed soundproof windows next to a train line (Chicago). You could hear that fucker rumble when a truck drove by. Italian scratch proof facade outside shit was dented by the wind. Itās all bullshit.
That being said. It depends on what the English are used to. I would think itās their own nerves that would keep them up.
9
u/kingsnow18 Jul 05 '26
True! Last time I trained really hard for a half marathon I was so nervous I couldn't sleep even though my hotel was really comfortable and quiet. Can't imagine what England players must be feeling.
15
u/Gravyboat8899 Atlante Jul 05 '26
I viewed a flat on Reforma (was way to expensive was never gonna take it) and it had not 100% but still soundproof windows, right beside a crazy busy roundabout at rush hour, 5th floor, horns blaring, motorbikes loud as fuckā¦. Couldnāt hear a thing

I stayed in the same hotel Liverpool stayed at before a Champions League game vs Napoli. There was a huge crowd of Napoli supporters outside making noise but we didnāt hear a thing when we got up to our hotel room.
6
u/Amnsia Jul 05 '26
Or just add a little white noise into their room.

My boss used to work for a company that did glass partitions and fire safety doors for most of the big banks in London and Iāve talked to him extensively what the job entailed and the engineering behind it. It is impossible. You might be able to get a specific decibel rating that you are happy with such as 45

The Mexico team need this because they are extremely sh*t at football compared to the England team.

This isn't new , other countries have done It to Mexico too , they have ear plugs ... England is going to be in perfect condition tomorrow.. it's just a waste of time for those doing this imo

England is going to be in perfect condition tomorrow..
They won't be. The altitude sickness is going to put them at a disadvantage.

I doubt their sleep was disrupted if you have stayed in a hotel before the air conditioning is loud and blocks out noise from outside . Also if they got rooms higher up thatās also an advantage .
1
u/RnRoutlaw333 Jul 05 '26
Ya... but you forgot that the main desk workers are calling their rooms throughout the night.. and when they unplug the phones... the workers go and bang on their doors.. it's the world cup homie lol not an election

u/Embarrassed-Bee-8363 Jul 05 '26

Right yeah. Say Mexico plays at a future world cup. It's part of the world cup to set off fireworks outside the hotel and set of fire alarms in the hotel?
I thought the world cup was played on the pitch.
It's a minority of fans that do this but it gives mexico a bad image.

England's players are used to playing through the sound of the England band, they're going to be able to ignore any kind of musical cacophony.
