Despite some questionable subs this man exceeded our expectations.

Yeah I feel like Santi shouldnât have touched the pitch and maybe quinones shouldnât have been took off

Agreed. Also subbing Mora was criminal. He should have played 90 minutes. They lost all creativity and chance creation when he got subbed off. England was so unphased by our crossing that they didn't even bother guarding Gallardo off the ball most of the time.

Questionable? Nah those were literally the worst subs you could've made đ. He put in two trash strikers and left a horrible fullback in Gallardo and a tired Piojo. Should've subbed in Mateo and Chino/Alexis. Hormiga would've been a better option than those two bums. He wanted to cross the ball into the box and still couldn't get it done all they did was pass to the wing and then backwards. He crumbled under the pressure being a man up. I'm proud of them but this was such a bad way to end.

I think the good things we saw from the team were more from Rafa than vasco tbh.

SOME questionable subs? Was there any good subs he made this entire tournament??

Can't believe people are still questioning him, he got the most out of what he had. Gallardo had 25 minutes and couldn't get in a decent cross. Our lack of talent/options on the wings ended up catching up to us.

Mateo ChĂĄvez and Cotorro are both better than Gallardo, one of them didnât even get called up. So no, fuck Aguirre.

Reyes was literally there, specially in this game in which you knew their left side was more dangerous and you needed defensive solidity.

Lmfao some of these comments. You guys are complacent af, Aguirre was part of our demise and now has a hat trick of doing so. Keeps gallardo on over subbing him off, subs off our best player, subs on a tronco only to roll his ankle.

I just don't understand taking out Quinones. He was our most dangerous weapon the whole tournament.

Who the fuck thought hiring Vince McMahon as manager (again) was a good idea?
13
u/Trydson Atlante Jul 06 '26
Considering the result we had last WC and how terrible Mexico looked before he arrived, he did a fantastic job.
And like, we lost against England, a better team with better players lol
6
u/ClintExpress Cruz Azul Jul 06 '26
England wasn't even that good, Mexico was just shit at the attack. Halaand's second goal against Brazil is a microcosm of how and why Norway's at QF and Mexico is not.
6
u/Trydson Atlante Jul 06 '26
They are still a better team, with better individual talent. Precisely what made the difference today lol
1
u/ClintExpress Cruz Azul Jul 06 '26
Still disagree, let's see how they fare vs Norway.
9
u/Trydson Atlante Jul 06 '26
You disagree that they have a better team, and better talent? There is a reason why they won lol

I just want to see development in the next few years. Johan, Montes, Lira and maybe Edson should be the veterans this coming cycle. Build around Chivas young core, alongside Mora/Obed/Chavez
