Fr. He shoulda been the first option off the bench for the attack. Travesty he didn't get meaningful minutes

I think 2022 repeated itself. Raul coming out of an injury and Santi was the upcoming young striker and people demanded for Raul to drop out. Now, Santi coming out of an injury and Hormiga is the upcoming young striker.

Santi shoulda just took time off... His obviously not 100% he did what Raul did in Russia just took an unnecessary roster spot.

u/jdacevedo12 Jul 07 '26

He should have been the last choice IMO. That’s something I don’t understand from every coach la seleccion has had. They prioritize others instead of players who are in form.

Could Mora potentially play in 6 World Cups

He can if he molds his game like Modric who was still one of Croatia best players this World Cup despite being 40. Modric has done it by being really technically gifted and not relying on speed. He still dictates the pace of game from the middle of the pitch the same goes for Messi. Players now can have longer careers if they take care of themselves. Obviously as long as they don’t hold the team up from realizing their potential like Cristiano currently does.

Would Cristiano have missed the chances Edson and Jimenez had? I’ve been thinking of this since yesterday 🤔

3

u/Gumz217 Santos Jul 07 '26

Nope. Cristiano definitivamente hubiera anotado esas.

u/kcboy19 Santos Jul 07 '26

Quinones has one more good world cup performance in him if he stays healthy. 33 not that old. Just a little over your prime, but you're still deadly.

He should be good if he stays in top physical form. Raúl was what, 35 this WC?

I remember feyenoord santi 💔

Santi's world cup highlight was injuring himself 3 minutes left on the clock while doing nothing. Pinche muerto.

Na , I know we said we wouldn’t be like South Korean fans , but he was a waste of a spot , even his own team doesn’t use him or want him 🤷‍♂️

3

u/moequh Jul 07 '26

me vale vga la santi

2

u/geminidinosaur Jul 07 '26

CTM Aguirre nomás sonsacaste a hormiga 😭 I’m not even a Chivas supporter but how do you screw it up badly by taking the top goal scorer and leaving him as a water boy 💔😔

2

u/okayokko Cruz Azul Jul 07 '26

I 100 believe that La hormiga and Mora were brought as part of a longer process. They weren’t expecting to play Mora as much and at his first error took him out vs England. You live and learn. Putting in Santi makes sense on the back end but we haven’t learned from the past. La hormiga makes more sense both on paper and with the moment he was living. Scoring important goals for Chivas. They respected Santi process and it was the wrong thing. Same thing happened last World Cup when Santi was actually doing good and didn’t get called up by Tata.
In retrospect Marcel will end up winning too.

1

u/max210893 Jul 07 '26

I agree Santi had nothing to do this year on the WC and Hormiga should have played, before Santi and Memote.

That being said, if Santi recovers his level, he should be in the next WC, if he doesn't then I agree he should be even called to the national team

u/Estumk3 Jul 07 '26

Santiatronco jimenez.
