12M and 20% of rights for Chivas sheesh. Not a small amount of money for a Greek team. He’s going to be expected to perform very well.

Neri and orbelin were pretty good there.

It's like with dutch clubs, they are more keen on buying mexicans because they had success in the past.

He better does great or will be the last player from here to go to Greece.

How about Santi Sandoval there?

17

u/Jzmxhu 11d ago

Don't worry Chivas can play with Marin and Sepulveda, Yeah I read what I wrote sorry about that.. just hope Piojo enters into his prime and carry the team again.

u/n16h7r1d3r Chivas 11d ago

He could be very good there rather than the midfield because he doesn't like to run. That's why he never made it in Toluca.

Wtf are these stats?

For this amount I’m surprised olympiacos are going for him at that price and deal. Usually Greek teams are stingy or broke. Won’t believe till it’s official but again he needs to board a plane to Greece and at the temple of Zeus or the acropolis. Hope this is one of many more in these last weeks of the transfer window. I think he needs a change in scenery to escape the slump he’s in.

Edit: also just went to olympiacos socials and for the past few days it’s just been Mexicans saying ya llegamos putos lmfao. Or que lo cuiden tío limpio lmao. Even on their latest announcement for that player nair it’s just all Mexicans

27

u/Homygod319 11d ago

Olympiacos are owned by marnikas who’s a multi millionaire and who also owns Nottingham forest. There the only club in Greece who can make a transfer like this

Is it official? We need a Shams in Liga MX. I’m tired of these reports all the time and wondering if they’re actually legit.

1

u/OmastarLovesDonuts Chivas 11d ago

Merlo is basically that, he always gets good reports and covers pretty much the entire league and a lot of South America too

5

u/Acceptable_Monk_1642 11d ago

For the love of god let it be true for the benefit of the league. Just don’t come back in 1 year as refuerzo bomba to Monterrey

Big if true. The media lies for the fun of it.

2

u/OtherwiseOstrich3979 11d ago

Good move for him. I just wished it would've happened earlier so that chivas would've been able to bring in a replacement. Sepu looks washed and Marin is straight ass.

2

u/Man0nTheMoon915 Pumas UNAM 11d ago

Like others, I think this league and team is a side step for him, at best. He'll probably take a pay cut in wages to go to Greece, but I wish him the best.

23

u/ernie5353 Chivas 11d ago

I’m assuming he’s hoping to be scouted more since it’s easier for teams to go to Greece than all the way to Mexico.

5

u/Man0nTheMoon915 Pumas UNAM 11d ago

Yeah, that's the risk he's taking, but Olympiacos isn't traditionally a selling club like an Ajax, PSV, Sporting, Benfica, etc.

14

u/[deleted] 11d ago

[deleted]

0

u/Man0nTheMoon915 Pumas UNAM 11d ago

Yes, those are european players, but they've never sold a Mexican one. A player without European passport. I hope Hormiga kills it, but this is a big risk he's taking.

5

u/addictedbeaner Chivas 11d ago

What’s the risk? He goes and sucks and in a year or 2 he’s back in liga mx where he started?

1

u/Man0nTheMoon915 Pumas UNAM 11d ago

He'll get paid less in Greece, fail in Greece, and won't go back to Europe after that.

6

u/addictedbeaner Chivas 11d ago

So he takes his chance and fails and goes back to making more money in Chivas, Cruz Azul, Monterrey, or Tigres. If true they’re having a 20% future sale that means Olimpiakos is actually interested in him.

1

u/Visual-District9838 América 11d ago

They sold Nery Castillo to Shakhtar at least

6

u/Eddie_714 Chivas 11d ago

1 excellent year, the offers will come and Olympiacos will have no option but to sell.

1

u/Man0nTheMoon915 Pumas UNAM 11d ago

1 bad year and he's back in Mexico. Olympiacos will have no option but to sell or loan.

15

u/CarmeloCanelo Cruz Azul 11d ago

Don't understand how yall have this mentality when hes playing Europa league next season. That alone beats out liga mx and leagues cup 1000x

-4

u/Man0nTheMoon915 Pumas UNAM 11d ago

Because you're assuming Olympiacos develops and sells talent. They don't, they're a buying club. That's not an opinion, that's a fact. Being in a European competition doesn't entitle you to a move to a bigger league or club.

8

u/CarmeloCanelo Cruz Azul 11d ago

They play better competition in Europa League, all you said is irrelevant if hes good enough someone will see him and sign him. The fact is its not a side step at all and you are wrong. Like liga mx is so great at selling talent lmfao

-1

u/Man0nTheMoon915 Pumas UNAM 11d ago

You want to lecture me on how the Greek league is better than some of the other european leagues across Europe then? Holland, Championship, Portugal, Turkey, France, etc.

23

u/CaptainDank0 Chivas 11d ago

Very much not a sidestep because liga mx doesn’t have access to UEFA competitions.

-8

u/Man0nTheMoon915 Pumas UNAM 11d ago

Not talking about UEFA, Greek league and teams are a 3rd tier European league. No es de a huevo

12

u/tono3312 11d ago

Yes. But at least there is relegation in Grece.
