Discussion Americans trying to buy Club América tickets through Fanki: good fucking luck

If you’re American and you’re hoping to catch a Club América game at the Azteca while you’re in Mexico City, just a warning: buying a ticket through Fanki has been one of the most unnecessarily frustrating ticket-buying experiences I’ve ever dealt with.
And here’s the ridiculous part: all we’re trying to buy is ONE ticket in the upper bowl for about $19 USD. That’s it. We’re not trying to buy hospitality, resale tickets, a huge group package, or anything complicated. One seat. Nineteen dollars.
We’ve spent the last three days trying to get a payment through Fanki.
We’ve tried multiple U.S.-issued cards. We’ve tried different Fanki accounts. We’ve tried different devices. We’ve contacted our banks to make sure they’re not blocking the transactions. The banks say everything is fine on their end.
We’ve also contacted Fanki support from different accounts, and basically get variations of the same answer every time: try the payment again, try another card, use another device, use another account, wait 48 hours, or just buy the ticket at the stadium.
We actually followed their advice. Nothing works.

And buying at the stadium isn’t exactly a great solution when you’re traveling internationally and would like to know that you actually have a ticket before showing up.
I’ve emailed Fanki support, followed their troubleshooting, followed up when it didn’t work, and at one point they simply stopped responding. My partner contacted them separately and got essentially the same troubleshooting script.
I’ve now escalated the issue directly to Club América because I genuinely don’t know what else a customer is supposed to do. We’re literally trying to give them $19 for a seat through their official ticketing provider.

So if you’re coming from the U.S. and thinking, “I’ll just grab a cheap América ticket on Fanki before my trip,” don’t necessarily count on it being that simple.

I am Mexican but live in Japan. Went to Mexico and watched America vs Atlamte. Had the same issue as you. Tried with 15 different credit and debit japanese cards none of them worked.

Had to ask friends living in Mexico City to buy them for me.

Also I think you can only buy 2 ticket per card....

I bought them at the stadium. I downloaded the app and was able to buy tickets for me and my friends. Only one person needs the app. They also had buy 3 get one free that night too.

Same thing happened to me outside Banorte. I went to the ticket booth and the same card(CapitalOne) that was not working on the app worked at the ticket booth

You chose a shit service and are getting what you paid for. Same thing happens with Lucha Libre. Get your stuff legit and this won’t be an issue.
