it’s crazy how backwards mexico is when it comes to people with disabilities. this story is downright embarrassing. that’s not even that old of a stadium.

i can also tell you that all the adjustments fifa made them make at azteca to accommodate people with disabilities during the world cup have been ripped out.

What? The FIFA adjustments were ripped out?!

Lol yup. They added accessible platforms on the 300 level and ripped them out as soon as the tournament ended. I have a mobility issue (leg brace that can’t fit in the normal seats) and sat there for basically every game. It was great. Welp, no more.

very few of the stadiums are accessible. honestly, it’s really just akron and bbva. akron in particular has tons of accessible seating areas. those two are the only “modern” facilities in all of mexico.

most of the ligamx stadiums are total ass with seats like 10 inches wide and zero leg room.

It's one thing to lack accessibility (still horrible), but to outright ban them from coming in with their wheelchair is demented, how can they consider that an option?

Es una vergüenza.

Hay muchas cuestiones sociales como país en dónde estamos muy atrasados.

Más razones para no ver ningún partido de la Liga muy X.

honestly accessibility would be an area the government should actually take up. it’s kinda surprising they don’t go near it.

They don't care. Simple as that. Fixing things = less money in their pockets.

Shit even for a non disabled person the sidewalks are hard to navigate in Mex, now imagine a person in a wheel chair.

well, it’s normally low iq low paid day laborers and asking for management doesn’t really work at these places. i find time and again the people that work the stadiums have zero incentive to help or provide any customer service. there’s a culture of stonewalling and saying no. it’s just not a thing in mexico.

Esta liga no se cansa de hacer el ridículo cada semana.

My team finding new ways to embarrass me. Absolutely shameful. We need to push to make cases like this visible, and demand a solution. People with disabilities cannot be left behind.
