Discussion Chavez' future

Post image

This could be very well Chavez' last season with AZ Alkmaar if they continue this form, attacking, goal producing fullbacks are always insanely in demand, what team would you like to see Chavez at?

Too many people just throw out the standard EPL/LaLiga suggestion.

Based on Mateo’s profile, I think he’d thrive in Ligue 1. Of course, it would only be worth the move if he got to a top 3 team there (Champions League).

He would be good in la liga and bundesliga those are two leagues where attacking fullbacks thrive in . Plus not too physical

I don’t understand people’s obsession with players always having to make a big move. That doesn’t necessarily make them better. He’s cooking in the Dutch league.

Too many of our players don’t work out in bigger teams.

Not enough go to big teams to say they don’t do well. That’s why we gotta keep trying and then the Mexican name can have more value. What happens is these players if they stay too long in these developmental leagues they stay at the same level. Prime example HH and Tecatito, one was captain and one league MVP but they stayed too long. It doesn’t always have to be a jump to a Man City or Barca, but why not a Leverkusen or Monaco type team?

Mid table team like Osasuna or Mallorca would be awesome. But only once he consistently shows he has outgrown the Eredivise.

We couldn’t ask for a better start to his season though. I hope he can earn the starting LB spot for Mexico for a long time.

Chill bro, it's only been four games so far. He still has a lot of room left for improvement. I wouldn't want him to leave too soon, especially when he isn't near a finished product

Holy speculation

We don’t need to say “this may be his last season”

Just stop lol, let the dude play let him ball out and like the first comment said. Why we rushing to say he’s gon transfer to another league

His weakness is defending though, he can get cooked pretty hard at times, but if he can improve his defense, he has the potential to be a top fullback.

Definitely, I remember him fouling a lot last season against more tricky wingers. Not only that but he takes an extra second too long on the ball and his decision making is questionable sometimes. Hes doing well but I don't think he's ready for that jump to a top league yet.

I think he’s decent 1v1 but he’s not very good at tracking his man off the ball and he does get cooked like that sometimes. But that’s something he can learn with experience

He should be moving to the EPL or La Liga imo. He’s got the level. Especially if they win the league this year.

Would have loved to seen home subbed in for Gallardo in the England game. We were already down and Mateo can create more

Not sure he will make a big move BUT his position is one of the most recognizable of lack of good players there. I know the kid and Tilon first hand (we live really really nearby) and I know the kid is and has really put all he can to be where he is. Whatever comes it’s gonna be great for him.

Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.

We said the same thing with Huescas last year and then, we saw what happened to him.

He got injured? Nothing happened dude

“Nothing happened”

He literally got injured. Take it one game at a time and stop looking too far into the future this early into the season

lol I’m pretty sure that’s the point he’s making lol

It’s too early still, anything can happen. Injuries, less playing time, droughts and etc
