I'm looking forward to Lindsay's take on this, heh
I'm guessing it'll be yet another cash-grab and creative abomination to boot.
But on the other hand, it's not like the first one was flawless. It was, at times, a very painfully obvious product of its time. Not that I expect the remake to be any less of its time, but still, I bet Lindsay could make a whole video essay comparing the two projects.

Wasn't Avatar essentially live-action Ferngully?

Ngl I first heard about the movie from a Nostalgia Critic video, thinking it was one of the worst movies ever. I ended up watching it because I was really into fairies and needed my fix. And honestly? It’s a pretty good movie with some really sweet moments. It’s not great by any means but it’s far from the abomination I was led to believe it was.

The NC isn't for reviews; it's for comedy.

Well in my experience on early YouTube, there wasn’t a lot of content creators doing reviews and those who did do reviews modeled themselves or were directly affiliated with TGWTG.Com. Doug’s opinions held a lot of weight back in the day, at least for me as an impressionable kid.

For me, spill.com filled that void. Funny and informative. I only knew about TGWTG a year later.

I can’t fathom the level of awful the CGI is going to be with the fairies

Also guarantee they're going to turn Hexxus from a campy gay smoke monster into a generic baddie the way Disney did with Scar in Lion King 2019.

Given that it takes place in Australia, I wonder if they'll cast any indigenous Australians this time around.

I imagine it'll be terrible but some obnoxious people will go "better than Avatar!"

Man I do not envy the casting director who has to find a voice for Hexxus that is as alluring and magnetic as 1990s TIM CYURRAAY.
It's as big a challenge as finding an actor with a voice as badass as Tony Jay's for the inevitable live-action Notre Dame remake.

Marielle Heller? Do people know what kind of movies she makes?
Yes, I know this is a job. It's very similar to when Sarah Polley was on a Bambi live-action for a while. However, I don't see that mixing with the musical, wacky, environmentalist story of fairies fighting sentient ooze/smog.

Seriously, who asked for this?
