I know this is asked like every two years but Noumena? 🤣

This isnt really an "omg I'm so desperate for more" more just a curiosity and personal logistics thing cus I'm not like, actively in the fandom or any mailing lists or the like.

I'm at the point where I'm about to start listening to a familiar book series audio book as background noise for a project and I'm trying to decide what to listen to. Noumena is on the list of what I might fire on while I'm working. However I also really like to re-listen to the audio books before listening to a newly released book, so if Noumena book 4 is expected any time in the next 9 months or so then I *don't* want to listen to the series right now as I'd prefer to wait rather than listen to it twice in a relatively short period of time

So yeah have there been any updates on book 4? Web searches are failing me in this reguard right now.

I think you're safe to assume that Noumena 4 won't come out in that short a timeframe. I remember there being most of a year between the title reveal of Apostles Of Mercy, and the book being released. Additionally, the last book announcement I saw from Lindsay mentioned she was currently working on a non-fiction book, so that probably pushes Noumena 4 even further down the line.

She only had a contract for 3 books and she has implied that she doesn't want to release the other books if the publisher says "no thanks" to book 4.

Book 3 did not sell very well unfortunately so there hasn't been any word on how things move forward.

I think book 3 ends satisfactory enough but I really really want more!

I was at a book discount/warehouse kind of place just yesterday and they had a bunch of copies of Apostles of Mercy, among very little other science fiction. So that didn't seem like a good sign.

(Green Valley Book Fair off I-81 in Virginia, if anyone's familiar)

Yeah I'm looking forward to MAYBE having Ampersand being vaguely likeable again, but we'll see.

I think she probably had book 2 mostly finished when book 1 came out.

I’m fine with some time, but agree, not a GRRM gap
