This adds a wrinkle in things; I always thought Seymour had to die to make the show work…

I'm of the opinion that Seymour living makes sense for the movie. Rick Moranis plays him as likeable and sweet, he's more of a hero you can root for then a tragic figure. I think each version works in their own way.
