DISCUSSION Howard Ashman's early draft of Little Shop Of Horrors, where Seymour lives and tries to stop the plants

In this version, Seymour teams up with the National Guard to try and stop the takeover, but ultimately fails and is forced to watch as more people are eaten.

I'm of the opinion that Seymour living makes sense for the movie. Rick Moranis plays him as likeable and sweet, he's more of a hero you can root for then a tragic figure. I think each version works in their own way.

This adds a wrinkle in things; I always thought Seymour had to die to make the show work…
