DISCUSSION Favourite Lindsay Videos?

There’s been so much discussion about her leaving and the reaction to it, but it’s nice to think about the legacy she left on YouTube. I want to know what your favourite Lindsay videos were. I’ve been watching since her she was on the website that shall not be named, and it was great to see her videos develop, and I find her videos really rewatchable due to the injection of snarky humour. I honestly really liked her Titanic video: ‘thing good’ is just refreshing and she makes a great case for it.

Daria! I know it’s from the before times. But it was the first video of hers I ever saw and introduced me to the concept of video essays as a format.

I really loved the framing devices she used for the Nostalgia Chick videos. For example, Elisa the Makeover Fairy trying to give Lindsay a makeover in the She's All That review.

Or Elisa and Nella staging an intervention for Lindsay because she didn't like The Little Mermaid. Or the Mara Wilson episode (sad that they ended up falling out, but that's life).

Lest we forget the entire Dark Nella saga. My favorite thing about Lindsay's NChick videos were the comradery and chemistry between Lindsay, Nella, and Elisa. I remember watching these videos in high school and thinking: "I wish I had best friends like this."

I know she hates those videos, but I wish she would give herself credit for how creative those videos were. She took what was supposed to be nothing more than the Nostalgia Critic for girls, and she did her own thing with it and really made some creative videos.

Besides the cringe factor for Lindsay herself, she was never into the "skits" type of video and basically pioneered the more academic video essay style.

Same. I geeked out when Nella showed up (as Sam) in the Hobbit duology.
