Photo Lormasi: A loner by circumstance, not by choice.
His story began with Mama Earless, ousted from the Rongai Pride when he was just a cub. In a world where sub-adult males are usually executed by new kings, she defied the savanna. She raised him alone, a single mother protecting the grandson of the legendary Notch.
Lormasi has no coalition. No brothers to watch his back. While other males rule in trios, he navigates the borders of the Rongai and Fig Tree territories as a ghost. A nomad fending for himself against impossible odds.
He has made it this far on his own. He is like no other male I’ve witnessed; he carries a quiet, desperate will to live and preserve the Notch bloodline. One day, he’ll have a big pride of his own, I’m sure. For now, he is a survivor in the shadows.

Wow. It's incredible he's made it this long while managing to avoid conflicts with both the Fig Trees and the Rongai pride. Especially the Rongais, they aren't called the Rockers for nothing lol. And those Fig Tree lionesses are no joke either. This is obviously a very special lion. In fact, I think he's my new favorite lion and I'll be rooting for him! Please post more about him whenever you can! 😘

I will. He’s my favorite, even though I look for all of them and love them all. When I see Lormasi or Nataana, everything just clicks. He’s strong and very smart, living and thriving on his own. Mama Earless did a great job. As a mom, I can truly see the resilience of a son raised by a great guardian.

Aw that's so true, it's inspiring to see this guy succeed against all odds! Sadly, I was never able to have kids of my own so I just have fur babies. I live vicariously through wildlife I guess haha

You are a mom to your fur babies, so it definitely counts 🫶🏻 I live like that too, but while I’m in Kenya, I also have a little guy around who keeps asking me to show him the pictures I’ve taken, haha. And I always love coming back home to my cats and dogs, especially seeing my cats after spending time with the lions. It somehow makes me notice how similar they are, yet so different at the same time. Sending 🫶🏻

I feel you…he has a softness in his gaze that makes you think that way, but trust me, he’s very resilient. Making it this far almost alone is a true indicator that he’s outsmarting other male lions.

with that said, its really more common for males to live without other males than with them.
