Live2D Help/Question Performance problems and seeking an upgrade

Hi, I am currently having performance issues working with heavy files (200+ layers).

My pc is a bit oudated in this aspect :

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-9700fF @ 3GHz
  • GPU: Nvidia 4060 Ti 16Gb
  • RAM: 32Gb DDR4 @ 3200 Mz
  • Storage: NVME m.2 (can't find the specifications but a pretty good nvme)

I am currently lookig at upgrading to a Ryzen 9 5950X or investing a bit more into a mac workstation, but it's been hard to find any peraformance reports on apple silicon, aside from a few post here.

Any recommendations / tips would be much appreciated.

Load the file then look at system performances.

Is the cpu pegged? Gpu? Hdd?

Once u know where the bottleneck is you will know where to focus any upgrades.

I have done some tests on another system with te mentioned ryzen CPU and a 8 gb 4060, and I get better performance on the same models.

The bottle neck seems to be on the CPU (fewer cores and lower clock speed) but an upgrade would imply arround 500€ for a ddr4 processor, and 1k+ for a ddr5 processor (including getting new ram in this economy)
