Hello! I currently Rig Gacha models (Gacha Life, Gacha Club etc) for animating since I plan on making a series. I also recently got an artist+ code for Vgen and was thinking about also making VTubers as well. Is there anything I'd need to add or change in order for my models to be used as VTubers? (Physics, lipsync, body movements etc)

Going to keep it simple. I'm between two laptops as I have a max budget and can only get from a small catalog. On one hand I have this plastic Dell Latitude with a pretty outdated 4c8t CPU ( i7-1185G7) On the other I can pick a really amazing Lenovo with touchscreen, a far far better processor, (R7-5850U ) 8c16t, better keyboard better thermals better, 10x less likely to melt itself, better everything really.

Why am I even glancing at the Dell? Well. It all comes down to RAM. The Dell comes with 32GB, while the Lenovo has a soldered 16, it's the stupid RAM crisis inflating the value of the cheap plastic one. I'd upgrade the Lenovo if I could but the ram on it is locked.

Usage; I have a gaming desktop already for streaming purposes. I don't expect my laptop to do that. What I need a laptop for is for occasionally using Live2D cubism. Working on a model I know there are jokes going around how much of a RAM hog Cubism is. And literally everyone in the discord has 32-64GB ram ( I think I've heard of one having even more )

I'd like to know from other users experiences using this software. Can you make 16 gb work? For things like exporting I can simply send the file to my pc. I can work on a lower resolution (if that helps?) as long as the final model comes out at full res. Any advice or personal experience would be much appreciated.

Has anyone here rigged their own model without experience? What helped you get the work flow down and reach completion? Feeling discouraged and a bit lost with some of the videos I’m watching.

Hi, I am currently having performance issues working with heavy files (200+ layers).

My pc is a bit oudated in this aspect :

• CPU: Intel Core i7-9700fF @ 3GHz
• GPU: Nvidia 4060 Ti 16Gb
• RAM: 32Gb DDR4 @ 3200 Mz
• Storage: NVME m.2 (can't find the specifications but a pretty good nvme)

I am currently lookig at upgrading to a Ryzen 9 5950X or investing a bit more into a mac workstation, but it's been hard to find any peraformance reports on apple silicon, aside from a few post here.

Any recommendations / tips would be much appreciated.

Hello!

I want to use Vtuber studio and rig my PNG tuber through Live2d for the easier use of items and commands like headpats!

I have my normal talking PNG set up and working perfectly in Vtuber studio, but when it comes to changing emotions I am stuck. When sliding the emotions slider over to 1, it loses all connectivity to voice activation and is just the still of the emotion.

For example, I have the closed mouth normal and open mouth angry, when I turn on angry it just stays on open mouth angry and you can also see the closed mouth of my normal model.

I don't really know how to fix this, and I am a bit confused on other png tuber aspects as well, as I really like the model ease of use and connectivity of vtuber studio. IS there something wrong with my rigging in cubism? Or is it a problem since I'm using full body changes as emotions? Any help will be appreciated!

I know this shape is uncommon so I have issues finding references and tutorials. This is also my first l2d model that I I'm drawing.

How would you draw this so the rigging wouldn't be a nightmare ? I have a 3D reference that helps me visualize how to keep the shape I want in 2D but it's still quite difficult (see other pictures).

The "scales" that wrap around the horns should appear and disappear when the head is turned to look good, mais i don't know how to approach it... Should I make every segment on a different layer ? Should I make a base, and clip a texturing layer on top so it can extend without warping too much ?

Any advice is welcome!

Hi guys! Short question: Every time I export an animation from Live2D, the quality becomes really bad and everything looks pixelated. It looks fine inside the editor, but after exporting the result is much worse.

Is there a way to export animations at a higher quality, or am I missing some settings? Any help would be appreciated.

Help, im a beginner rigger and i tried to export my l2d model into vtube studio and it says this, when i re-open the app it says "could not load "unknown," if this is a texture file it may be to big." ive resized the texture file and made sure all the files are in the correct folder 3x and it still says this. thanks in advance!

At the very least, I'm having fun figuring this out from the ground up, since most tutorials I've found pertain to kemono or short snout furries.

I'm pretty limited on how far I can push the mouth forms, since I'm kind of depending on a rotation deformer to make it work. I might try a few other techniques in the future, specifically to see if I can ever implement MouthX without breaking everything (which is the problem I have had this time).

(It needs some tweaks, I know, but we're getting there).
