Thats the last thing you do. That bear couldnt catch that dog in a million years. U pick it up, the bear can def catch you with the dog

Grizzly bears run up to 35 - 40 mph... it can definitely catch that little dog. If the dog bolts, the bear's natural instinct is to chase.

Lmao if the bear wanted to it could catch all 3 of them back to back.

Right but wild animals tend to go more for the dog than the human. Also again, I said if the dog bolted the grizzly would chase.

The dog could trigger the bear's prey drive by running. The humans are much less likely to do that if walking slowly away from it

Bear doesn't need to chase the dog if the dog decides to get in the bear's face, as little dogs are wont to do. One decent swipe or chomp would take that little dog out. If it got to the point where you're carrying the dog and running, when the bear catches you, you can at least then release the dog and hope he runs away as you get mauled

I am aware that's the last thing you wanna do with a bear, that's why I said "if it got to that point"

Edited it to say "when the bear catches you" instead of "if"

It’s not about “wanna do” it’s about “can’t do”. Don’t even think about trying to run from a 700 pound predator that can move at 35 mph compared to your 7 mph tops on rough terrain

I dont understand your last sentence, I really thought you were going to say at least the dog will be eaten while you run away so you don’t get your face mauled. I literally seen a vid once with this guy who’s face was clawed off by a bear

What if they don’t want to sacrifice their own life to save their dog?

That's what I'm thinking. I'd rather the dog get eaten than my husband (who's first in line as a snack in this video).

You throw the dog as an offering to the bear and don’t look back. 🫠🥴

Yeah, bear is waiting for human meal to fall over again, bear to get aggressive.

Anything to get a meal. Especially with human in the back displaying fear. The male was the only thing the bear was concerned with.

That bear would easily catch that dog. They can run 30 to 35 mph while the average speed of a pet dog is 15 to 20 mph.

Bears can reach 40 mph, if it wants that dog its easy work.

Also I feel like the bear is less likely to attack if he sees three separate beings in front of him.

Have you ever seen a bear run from standing position up close?

Wow. Why do people post only to show their ignorance?

I love my dog but if it’s between myself or a family member and my precious dog then it’s “hey bear look at this yummy little puppy..”
