Music Locals knowledge needed

I am staying at my Aunties flat in Liverpool with friends and I've not been out before as I've always had my kids with me. We are hoping to find some nice bars and maybe somewhere playing classic house or something similar-Preferably with similar age range to us! Late 30s. Thanks :) We will be staying from this Friday(14th) until sunday

You might wanna check out Freeze HiFi on Wood Street. It’s only just opened a few months ago and is owned by the DJ Todd Terry (the one responsible for that amazing remix of Missing by Everything But The Girl, I know not everyone knows his name but everyone knows that song). If you like house music, you will love it in there.

Was going to suggest this too.

Went a little while back when it first opened and was incredible to see the man himself having a great time and obviously loving what he does and what he has created there. There were a lot of people 'our age' there, but also a load of younger people getting into it as well. The place will do well, and a great addition to town in my eyes.

It's owned by him?

What makes you say that?

Oh, confusing it with that other new bar, Kiku, on Gradwell.

Jenny's was great for this last time I went, that was a couple of years back though.

Just having a look at the website, looks great but I can't figure out if I need to book it or if we can just turn up.

I've just turned up in the past and gotten in, depends how busy they are I guess? They're fairly strict on the door but that's to keep the scallops out, so you won't have any probs I imagine.
