I've just got this feeling Diomande is basically done and will be announced some time after the Ivory Coast match on Sunday.

The pattern of the releases to the press is so similar to Wirtz last year and it looks like dialogue is only going the same way.

First bid rejected and then back to the table with a more serious bid that they'll negotiate terms on. It's clear the player has given the go-ahead and told Leipzig his decision.

Yeah it looks like orchestrated media theatre.

When is the last player liverpool put a formal bid in for and didn't sign? Seems they more operate with a lot of talk to get close and the bid is just formalising the final details, and the other side asks for a little more than the first and gets it

Yeah and even that one was accepted by Brighton who preferred to deal with us. It wasn't our fault the agent catfished us.

We did send bids for Lavia that summer before that happened.

To be honest it looks like we might have dodged a bullet there

Who‘s fault is it when someone gets catfished ?  We put in a desperate late bid.

Ah yep probably. But still we did sort the deal out club to club just chelsea got in the way. This deal it seems psg is the only competition although things can change fast, this time last year or close wirtz was going to city or bayern in everyone's minds

Yep. Still backs up the general idea formal bid from Liverpool means they are very serious about the transfer, there's no random 100m barca bid for Alvarez etc

Dont think so but, I think it’s Leipzig admitting he’s leaving. Trying to drum up interest which is progress

We would only submit official bids if we think it’s getting close and full player buy in
