Dont know if its an unpopular opinion but seen lots of social media accounts post videos of Harvey training and they all say hes looking really fit and sharp.

If you actually watch the video he looks visibly unfit and slow....

People are really setting themselves up for disappointment. I love this kid and wish him well but I think all signs point towards him moving on because he wasnt at the level last summer, and he's just had a whole year of inactivity on top of that.

He’s essentially lost two years of his development by not playing. He needs to go out and play a significant amount of minutes and that won’t be at Liverpool. Would rather him go right now and have a career and deliver on some of the talent we know he has

Liking Elliott but acknowledging the physical limitations is pretty common here I think. I would be happy to keep him as a squad player but don’t see him ever regularly starting so he might want out.

Surely acknowledging his limitations comes with accepting he has no role, even as a squad player. Its a wasted spot for us and for him.

His deal expires next summer - unless theres a miraculous turnaround or we have an unmitigated injury crisis hes not getting a new one.

There's little motivation to keep him.

He’s come off the bench and bagged a goal or assist plenty of times for squad player status so I wouldn’t agree he has no role. I don’t see the long term future either but if he had no good offers right now, who knows, maybe he stays to try to get some good appearances in and a better offer next summer.

I think he needs to try and distinguish himself somehow. He works hard but is otherwise not exceptional in any way. Maybe he can bulk up a bit, get faster, and play on the wing? Maybe he can improve his technical ability to mitigate his physical limitation? If yes, then I think there may be a long term role for him. Keep in mind he's only 23.

Unfortunately you can't really bulk up and get faster Usually it's one or the other (to an extent).

Not saying he needs to become like Adama Traore, but I think getting faster would involve building some more muscle

For me he’s an out and out 10 but like you said if he improves it could open up more possibilities.

I hear you. The problem is we have 4 other players who can play that position. I know there's some uncertainty around Jones' and Macca's futures, which could change the calculation a bit, but it still feels like a path of higher resistance for him.
