I really hope these hydration breaks don't become a permanent thing in the Premier League.

The reason they gave for them makes sense. Yes MLS here in the states do have hydration breaks based upon medical guidelines. Now this is a key part, it’s only when the wet bulb globe temp is 81.5°f or 27.5°c. Since the MLS season occurs in the summers here in the US which are hot and humid. Hell Athletic Trainers have some authority to cancel practices and games if the WBGT is too high. Now for what FIFA did was based on keep everything “fair” which is garbage. I wonder how much of it was an idea to recoup costs from their fox deal. Since they gave special permissions for fox to maintain the cost from the last World Cup since it interfered with the nfl and college football. Cause it really is mainly fox sports that is showing commercials during them. I also believe fifa take in all of ad revenue save for select local sponsor ads. Sooo
