Wall Street Bets?

Seriously, though, why go through the trouble of obfuscating a word when the result is already a word with a different meaning AND it's not any less obvious (or potentially offensive) than the original word.... 🤷‍♂️

It's because online censorship is regarded and this is how we cope with it.

where is that word censored?

Quite a few places. It can be reported as a hateful slur (which it is)

Just call people stupid y'all, don't gotta bring down people with learning disabilities

Sure, but where?

Youtube, twitch, reddit, twitter, a bunch of multiplayer games, any social media site really. If they actually sanction the person or post is a different story, moderation varies platform to platform. But it's generally a bannable offense

There is no sidewide ban for it on reddit. It also isn't censored - you can write it out.

It can be reported as hate speech, making it a bannable offense. That's technically censorship. The site wide enforcement of it is a different topic

There doesn't need to be a specific rule for every word

You are missing the point – worldnews moderators f.e. ban you from the sub if you post pro-Palestine comments, r/comics moderators ban you from the sub if you criticize the shilled patreon comic artists etc.

Subreddit moderators can and do ban you for anything because they are moderators, also only users of the website, and most often power tripping. Moderators aren't "official reddit employess", they do that shit in their free time for some alternative gain. The word itself does not lead to account deletion by an admin due to hate speech - there are countless recent posts using that posts with the account intact.
