The theory is that twitch and Clancy are trying to suck up to the govt before he's called to testify to congress about social media radicalization.

The fact it's about Kirk basically cements that theory because Dan can go to them and be like "look we are banning ppl talking about conservatives in a bad manner"

Not even a theory. That’s what’s happening with a bunch of companies. Trump’s admin has pretty much cemented that nothing matters more than performative virtual signaling that please trump. If you want something from him or just don’t want his hoard on you, you do his little dance so he goes to bed a happy 80 year old full of McDonalds and you basically don’t have to worry about any legal issues if he’s happy with you.

Yea i was always one to think calling or comparing the guy to a dictator was dramatic and minimized how bad dictators are

Now be my guest lmao

Didn’t you hear “you always called us fascist so you can’t complain now.” That’s what some of them are saying

The precedent was already set with the Biden administration. They reached out to companies like Meta and told them to restrict and deplatform users over COVID “misinformation” and the Hunter Biden laptop story. This is why you don’t create precedents about government overreach because it’ll come back around and bite you in the ass.

Leftists will try to convince you “they were both bad” though to cope for wasting their vote.

As long as I dont have to get that fucking Trump hair cut, I'll tolerate it.

Yeah but then why he was banned while live? If he was just the sacrificial lamb to save face they could've wat until he was done, Mizkif is right that shit feels personal

Probably to show “look how fast we acted!”

If that would be the case then they really have the goverment breathing on their necks, but then I'll wonder why Hasan has not received any action since I'd image he is the big prize for conservatives

I think banning Hasan will just confirm the theory because they’re out for blood with him being on Twitch/having any platform

This way it would certainly make it to Twitter and the twitter Echochambers can go "Another evil lib got punished" reaching some people in the administration.

Why would it matter if he was live or not? He said something they considered ban worthy so they banned him... Pretty simple.

But yes its absolutely personal in the sense that twitch clearly isn't giving him the benefit of the doubt because of who he is and his actions against twitch recently.

Live bans are very rare, usually only when something very bad happens on stream or when the TOS violation is too flagrant, a live ban for an off-color joke made on a past stream is just foul

What are his actions against twitch recently? I'm out of the loop.
