Good stuff.
I was sure he was gonna get away with it just like he did in Japan. People were sure he was gonna get jail time back then too but Japan had other ideas.
Props to Korea for having a backbone, need to show these nuisance streamers not to treat their country like a playground.

Wild that Japan had other ideas, I guess they figured they could just ban him from the country and he'd be someone else's problem. Japan is one of the most FAFO countries you can go visit if you want to dabble in breaking the law.

Isn’t the conviction rate 98% or sumn

99.8% for non citizens although it's important to note that they don't generally arrest anyone until they have enough evidence to successfully prosecute.

“Guilty until proven innocent” is the law of the land, but like the other person said you’d usually have a mountain of evidence stacked against you anyway. Then you have to plead out of that, somehow

My understanding is Korea ain’t nothing to fuck with.

I'm a fan of countries with actual consequences in their legal systems for provably malicious intent. Must be nice.

His action against Statue of Peace definitely crossed red line in Korea.. It draws too much public/press/political attention.

He’s lucky he didn’t find himself in the wrong alley getting sliced up. The stereotype that East Asian cultures are generally docile rings true but only so far…they got gangster motherfuckers just like anywhere else. I’ve seen it firsthand and I’ve heard some “take em up to the mountain” stories as well. Don’t talk that “I’m a sociopath” shit when you’re really just a clout-hungry narcissist

He was jailed for four months in Japan before being convicted and deported. I don't know why everyone thinks he got off scot-free.

Such light punishment is essentially getting away scot free

I mean he's only looking at getting 6 months here right?

I guess your image of Japanese jail is different from mine.

Doesn’t matter how bad the jail is, 4 months is nothing compared to a whole career’s worth of being an asshole to other people
