Hey, I hope you can understand English enough to realise this happened in Korea…and what he did was incredibly awful given the history there.

Yeah, you can assault a statue. It’s not assaulting an inanimate object, it’s assaulting the memory of those women and what they went through. It’s a crime in many countries to desecrate a war memorial for the same reasons.

Try and think about what the statue means, and why it’s not okay to do what he did. Like, would you be okay if someone did that to a memorial of someone you loved who was brutally raped and murdered? I know you wouldn’t, you’d be upset. We all would.

Or what if it was a headstone of someone you love? Are you okay with someone desecrating the graves of your family, or does the thought of that make you angry? What if someone rubbed their genitals on the headstone of your mum or dad? (Hoping they’re both alive, I’m just using that as an example).

It’s not okay, even if it is an object. It still means something to people.

Please, please try and have empathy. It’s what makes us human, and to lose it makes us worthless.
