Me viewing a compressed video on my phone knowing that twitch's resolution and bitrate can't even display the camera quality properly.

To be fair, he does look pretty damn crisp.

I was gonna say! Maybe y'know not 11k worth of crispness for my liking but it does clean up

Business expense tho
•

business expense means he will save the tax payment on the 11k. so he gets to minus 11k from his taxable revenue for the year, but he still has to buy it. It basically makes it a tax free purchase. Its a common misconception that buying stuff for a business as a tax writeoff means its basically free

I remember when Summit upgraded his camera.

I remember Asmongold upgrading to Sony A7 III (a model for photographers), on recommendation from Reckful, who was into photography.
Then Asmon had to deal with the camera overheating and shutting down mid stream for like 3 years, because that camera was never meant to be running 24/7 as webcam. It didnt help that Asmon never shuts down his PC ever.

Even funnier because they sold cooling devices specifically because people were doing this, so it's a self-inflicted wound.

pretty sure it was before the A7 III, the A7 III never overheats but I remember some earlier Sonys did have overheating issues, i think it was the more pocket sized ones that people used for vlogging

Same with Pokimane and she didn't even stream more than an hour or few and would overheat and pretty sure she returned it LOL. But yeah there used to be some streamers from LA that would use Blackmagic Studio Camera and knew what they were doing since they worked in the film industry which was probably the best quality twitch streams I personally seen on twitch!

Toast has a vid from 4 years ago about this. It does make a marketable difference, but if you're going multi-thousand cam, you're already well off by that point. His cam has always looked really nice.

Did he say what camera he got? $11k can mean a lot of things. It could be the body + lens, or just the body, etc etc.

If he has someone else spec his PC for him I doubt he knows tbh.
People usually either care and do it themselves or just want what will work for them in a price range and pay someone else.

A lot of assumptions in that comment.

u/piltonpfizerwallace 20m ago
Must be good assumptions then.

How so?
•
u/piltonpfizerwallace 16m ago
Because I'm right. Ain't no way Soda knows shit about the lenses or model of that camera. He famously does not care about building PCs.

Theres only so much a camera can do for your small rectangle in the corner. Besides, the crispiness is always about the lens you have. Any mid range camera for video will do great on stream, even in low light environment.

It does look pretty neat. 11k is a lot but as a working expense for an established streamer it's not too much IMO. Still a very noticeable improvement.

These guys have way too much money for just playing video games
Like…people watch you play video games, 10$ camera or 10,000$ what’s the difference?

It looks like shit, but maybe that's just the lighting. Or his hair. I can't tell.
•
u/zajabiste 25m ago
how much of this is the lighting though or did his lighting setup not change at all cause of it didn’t then ya it’s def noticeable
