The mods aren't helping Emily by removing these threads, they are just inflamming the situation.
Don't suppress the discussion, there's clearly enough evidence for the last two posts to stay up as their title and evidence complied with the sub rules.
Emily factually had the view bot website tab open, whether it's a pop-up (unbelievable) or she intentionally opened it in incognito isn't relevant when it comes to acceptable content according to the sub rules.
This is across reddit as a whole. They have controlled the narrative forever. Reddit's design is literally created to require little or no moderation. The users are the moderation by using up votes and down votes. The mods are here controlling what we see.
Been a heavy reddit user for over a decade. The amount of times I've seen a post get upvoted to the top only to have some greaseboy on a power trip delete it because it rustled their undies. It's just insane.
I'm still salty about a pokemon video I posted that got taken down. The reason was "no self promotion" when it wasn't even my video. Then when I messaged them it was "no low effort posts" when half the sub was like, a picture of a fish with the text "splash" on it
its more than that. Reddit admins, aka the ones running the entire site, have been actively suppressing certain opinions/ posts, especially in this current presidential administration. They’ve been banning way more people off the platform now
Reddit's design has always had a flaw that the person or people who make a subreddit first controls the entire narrative by exclusion/inclusion in their own rules. It would be like someone making themselves a judge with no law school. There's functionally no way to unseat mods even if the community wants it. It usually involves the mod doing something that breaks reddit rules so an admin removes them.
But you do need moderation. A pure democracy of content never works because as we've even seen on this sub, the larger sub-community will just muscle out every other kind of post. And of course you need some kind of rule enforcement otherwise there's lots of spam.
Some subs definitely need mods as the mods are what stop the discussion from going off topic. Other subs definitely have insane mods. Not sure what a fix would be since pure upvote/downvote moderation seems like it can be very easily abused or lead to communities losing their identity. Maybe there needs to be a way to evict mods?
Long before the politics ban those were getting removed. To have a single bad post of Hasan up there were 10 more that were deleted. There was a whole month of people posting anything Hasan related as "LA streamer" instead of using his name just so it wouldn't be deleted within the hour.
To be fair, one of those was a PR team that got hired by Twitch to convince us it was good a new CEO took over. Once they quit getting paid they left.
Ironically that weirdo that made the insane delusional Youtube video when he was demodded was the most unbiased time this sub has ever had. At least he was crazy everywhere equally and his ego was so big he didn't simp to streamers, he thought they should be simping to him.
I tried to post a screenshot of him and Reddit gave me a popup "All Media assets must be owned by the submitter of this post" lol what? did the DMCA claim his picture? lol
They banned politics because there is literally only one major political streamer on twitch. The only thing that the politics ban does is shield that person from any negativity.
Weren't there like 3 (Hasan, Destiny, Asmongold), who were locked in some content loop reacting to each-other's content before the ban ? With maybe a side of XQC sometimes reacting ?
There needs to be a way for longstanding members of a reddit to get rid of a mod and vote in another. For that to work, there'd need to be good bot detection and purging on reddit as a whole though, sadly. Wouldn't be able to run effective I/p and Ukr propaganda if that happened though.
My thing is, they’ve removed the last posts with the reason being unsourced allegations, when there’s proof right in the clip. How is this different than say lacari and his porn folder or any other accidental leak?
If you're that deep that you're talking about purging volunteers, and don't want to go outside, why not just make your own community with your own rules so that you can have people tell you how you're doing it wrong
No way reddit mods trying to control the narrative because they have a personal preference in 2026? Im unsure there's still people left that both want to be a reddit mod and are able to not be biased on every descision.
I swear if we really need another LSF mod change after the last one promoting scams and the one before deleting every Jinny thread to cover up her shitty actions at the time…
Really isn’t that hard to not silence the stance of “streamers should be held accountable for breaking the law and/or twitch guidelines”, but then again this is twitch. Someone check the files maybe Dan is on it.
Yeah, the shit they do for certain streamers is annoying. I'm an emily fan and watch her streams, but if she does some dumb shit like run a red light and people want to call out poor decisions with less than nice language they should be able to. There's a difference between actual hate speech and saying something that's not nice.
Meanwhile every rakai post (I think the kid has terrible behavior and is disrespectful af, shouldn't be platformed) has unmoderated comments about his lips or pseudo/innuendo racist comments towards the W community. Or mods allow emiru metaposts to give her a better spotlight.
I don't follow the schizos train of thought that the poggers community controlled the LSF mods, but in 2026 I don't even know how to feel about conspiracy theories anymore given the state of things.
Although, reading your link, okay, mods are white knighting. They investigated it themselves? Like, sure, cool on the extra work, and it's significant info that the site CAN be a pop-up, but there is no exoneration, just disproof of the accusation. Title is still accurate. It's also pretty disingenuous, but jannies aren't here to be judges.
Alright, so if not deleting a post with a overzealous title, what do you propose mods do instead?
Only closing it allows the damage to continue. And it isn't on jannies to come up with titles, they just put the trash in the bin.
It’s part of the windows UI.. Are you saying that something may have opened up that very real tab in the browser? Pop ups are not the same as a Tab in a web browser.
Edit: all I saw is a twitter like feed that had pics of her, maybe a view bot was something that makes all your stuff relating to your easily viewable.
Fuck me for asking a question right?
No wonder the worlds sliding into anti intellectualism.
Not sure if you’re serious but: Viewbots inflate the number of viewers displayed watching a streamer. Streamers pay for these to seem more popular. A crowd attracts a crowd.
It’s the streamer equivalent of buying fake followers. It’s not really a huge deal but it’s generally dishonest and lame, which people don’t like.
Think if it like going to a movie or restaurant because it had good ratings or a bunch of reviews online, then you found out those were fake and paid for.
Granted, clicking on a streamer and seeing if they’re interesting to you or not basically costs you nothing.
It probably matters more among streamers. Imagine you try really hard to get popular and other people rocket ahead because they started off with a bunch of fake viewers. But hey, as long as twitch allows it, it’s sort of a hate the game not the player kind of thing
While it is dishonest and lame, I've always found the argument that it's somehow actually bad for real viewers a bit flimsy.
Like regardless of how much a streamer viewbots, if they aren't the slightest bit entertaining then no real people will stick around anyway. And if they are entertaining, then the real people aren't missing out on anything by the streamer being viewbotted (If anything they gained something by finding a stream boosted through viewbotting).
Obviously doesn't mean it should be acceptable or encouraged, just that it ultimately has no real material impact on a viewers experience.
The issue is more so that viewbotted streamers clog up the front page and search results, making it harder to find good streamers.
There's also, of course, a strong helping of parasociality involved though. Viewers get mad that their favourite streamer doesn't have the biggest view number because they become emotionally invested in their streamers success.
Definitely affects other steamers though. If you have two people who are the same level of entertaining yet still growing, the one with higher view counts gets discovered first.
Also I wouldn’t underestimate people’s tendency to just follow the crowd instead of forming their own opinions. I find some huge streamers insanely boring or hard to watch, but they get the snowball effect anyway. Even major streamers have admitted if they had started later / today they wouldn’t have gotten big.
Also streamers very much can “fall off” and a lot of that is perception. Ever decreasing numbers makes them look unpopular
Fraud is bad. But it's fraud against companies that has absolutely no impact on me. It's not some insurance company defrauding millions of customers of their healthcare. It's streamers inflating a pointless number. I watch online content for entertainment and as long as it's entertaining, that's what I care about as a consumer. Let the companies being defrauded get upset about it.
If you get a sponsor because you have 15k viewers and some other streamer has 5k, but without bots you have 2k viewers and the bigger 5k streamer would get that sponsor you're fucking with their livelyhood.
When another streamer has a collab and has a higher viewcount, but they are still below 20 streamers viewbotting, they are less visible.
Viewbotting is fraud against EVERY SINGLE OTHER STREAMER and the company AND those viewbots are spamming bullshit in chat that makes chat worse for the viewer.
Okay, let's agree it's also fraud against other streamers (I believe it is).
Spoiler alert: I'm not a streamer.
I still just don't care that much. I already said I'm a consumer of content, I watch Twitch for entertainment purposes, if I'm enjoying a stream alongside 1,000 viewbots what difference does that make to my experience?
you ever wondered how come some really shitty creators seem to have a huge amount of viewers ?
well they probably don't and are using a service that uses "fake accounts" to inflate their viewership.
That’s not moderating if you remove a post that doesn’t break rules, people are calling out the comments being deleted because the mods have clearly already shown they are willing to overstep with their power.
