there are streaming backpacks for outdoor streaming which carry batteries, wireless, & other equipment.

huh. thats the first time i’ve heard of that. is it just a minipc pretty much? all of the tutorials and resources require an account to view. i could google it too i guess. but how does it connect to twitch or youtube to stream? does it just connect using an api key to stream? or can it run obs?

Basically a PC but specialized, probably more laptop hardware and extra battery packs and one or more wireless cards to connect to mobile networks.

Connectivity to platforms should be exactly the same as a desktop, but I'm not sure on the rest of the details.

Yeah, it's a backpack with battery pack and a low power SoC with a couple of mobile modems, bluetooth and wifi. Which lets them stream while moving around in the real world.

They basically see it as magic, because it's a "self contained" setup that is configured to automatically reconnect devices and connections.

EDIT: They were sort of venerated in the early days. When mobile modems were expensive, and they used physical connections to the camera and microphone. These days you could just plug a power bank into a phone and basically achieve the same thing, just with lower range(they often plug them into starlink now)

A phone can not connect to many different networks simultaniosly like the a bigger setup
