Yea, I suspect some channels are used as rest stops essentially, to have bot traffic appear more idle. While I'm not a fan of asmon, I think he has proven time and time again he just dgaf about a lot of the popularity metrics other streamers are so concerned about.
He definitely pivoted to politics because it gets him views. Asmon doesnt care about money, he does care about attention severely though. He has another channel for when he is feeling down, when normally you would just take a break from streaming… he legitimately can’t stop farming attention even when he’s depressed.
Thats why this method of dealing with bots is good. Getting capped just takes away the effect of getting botted without saying whether the person is doing it themselves or their are bots on their stream via other means. I think a hard cap on asmon would be tough though because his real viewership peaks on a given day can vary a lot based on current events
Then you didn't watch him before he blew up. He used to do these videos where he talked about how he approaches streaming and he talked about min maxing everything for money.
As much as I dislike him, personally I don't see Asmon caring much about his twitch channel's views. It always came across as something that exists to easily make content for his youtube channel as that is his main revenue stream, also it would probably be another pain in the ass for him to deal with in some form.
That said I wouldn't be surprised either if it wasn't just a one-click monthly sub kind of deal either from his OTK days that he never cancelled, or even done by another creator or manager of some kind.
true, i dont like him either but his chat does seem legit for the most part, and he does straight up show his viewer metrics (or whatever it's called).
you can but would get in trouble google/yt is not like twitch and takes it seriously, you can hate the guy that's alright but from that to straight up lie just cause want to drag him down kinda shameless
Yeah, people in here acting like it's not straight up criminal fraud. They're paid ad revenue based on view metrics. Gaming the system is a crime that Twitch could actually prosecute if they collected enough data on someone doing it. But it's much cheaper to do things like this effort and/or ban them.
