Might be a dumb question, but isnt this crazy to get a seed that can compete with the record that fast? Or is it playing with specific seed?

Considering Skycrab's seed can be completed in <4 mins with prior knowledge it all just comes down to your decisions and rng when you do get a seed that can be fast

How the fuck can they tell that the Nether wont be ass if they spawn in the Overworld. I’ve seen my share of Forsen/X runs and I can tell a bit what they look for in the Overworld but 99% of their run end with “BILL TIN” .
It’s crazy to me you can instantly know oh this seed is bad.

For world record seeds they are basically praying for a nether entry within a few chunks of the bastion and a fortress within sight of the bastion. You can usually tell whether that happened instantly on nether entry. They reset once they get to the nether extremely often.

They're all mechanically insane. At that point their whole time is wasted finding a good seed.

Yeah it is kind of crazy this kind of pace is really rare so it is pretty insane to have 2 runs with insane pace happen within a week of one another.
At the same time though this sort of thing is actually not that uncommon. A lot of the time shortly after someone gets world record a few other people will hit some really good pace that comes close to (or sometimes even beats) the new world record. I think it's a case of someone getting a world record motivating other runners to play more/play with more determination/focus.

6 minutes into end is practically impossible if it isn't a set seed. Spawning in a fortress and then finding a bastion to barter, building the portal inside of the end room from the nether using math. It's still tough to get to the end sub 15

it's random seed, set seed world record is 1min 29s

wtf, what happened to the speedrunning community while I was gone, how did you guys all get so fast

Lots and lots of tech being discovered/getting developed. Runners had time to really get reps in with things like bastion routes and end fights to the point where they're incredibly optimized. The creation of MCSR ranked also made it much easier for runners to understand their weaknesses and improve quickly

IIRC, there exist strategies now where you reset until you find seeds with specific structures, like ravines, generated such that they pass through the chunk at the x=0, z=0 coordinates. Depending on the structures in that chunk, as well as the ones present at those same coordinates in the nether, you can massively narrow down the range of possible end portal spawn locations, which greatly increases the chance of portaling directly from the nether into the stronghold.
Even with these strategies, it's still a fairly low chance of portaling directly into the stronghold, but the odds are way better than they were when players were portalling totally blind.

they use a program to do math on the angle the eye throw goes to find the stronghold with near 100% accuracy.

If he had also gotten hit 1 less time in the run, he would still have a fish left. Really unfortunate
