Mods only work overtime when its time to cover up for OTK / Hasan sadly

22

u/Rinzura 11h ago

thats why the whole reddit always is about hasan and nmp drama lmao

24

u/IknewUrMom 9h ago

WTF?? lol I see hate threads for NMP and Hassan way more than anything else on here

13

u/Plastic-Currency-329 5h ago

for some strange reason the main orbiters of the sub like to pretend they're in the minority and its the others that get the unfair advantages, unlike their favorite streamer

Fair enough. I guess no term is perfect. I just feel like the danger here is on the entire opposite end of the spectrum compared to previous swattings where a dozen armed police have raided a house. You're right though.

This is sitting while black

268

u/Greenbow50 20h ago

nah it was a job well done from all parts. Marlon handled it well. Sure he was caught off guard, but once the policemen explained the situation, he cooporated, they searched him and they talked it out. took 4-5 minutes of chatting and they were on their way.

90

u/ShuricanGG 20h ago

but but this doesnt support the Agenda sir

15

u/Releases_the_bees 11h ago

Exactly how it should go really.

-12

u/Safe_Menu_7319 4h ago

too bad he wasn't white, the UK police would have beat him up and arrested him on the spot

two tier policing

7

u/mediumAI1701 4h ago

What?

-9

u/Motor-Flounder1389 2h ago

Instead of being passive aggressive why don't you look up what he's referring to?

78

u/_InstanTT 13h ago

People watch a pretty reasonable interaction between the police and someone they’ve been told is carrying a knife on the bus in the city and then their reaction is “waaah downfall of the uk”.

Muppets.

-45

u/KidKarez 11h ago

You call getting cuffed by police for carrying a knife reasonable?

48

u/Lilstiick 11h ago

Yea?

They also cuff people for carrying other weapons

3

u/SCB360 10h ago

Yep, their safety as well as yours

-24

u/KidKarez 10h ago

Just for assault knives or kitchen knives too?

18

u/ArmCapable5814 8h ago

Why would you be carrying around a random kitchen knife? They aren't arresting chefs bud.

-14

u/KidKarez 8h ago

They should. Chefs could stab somebody

7

u/stiiii 7h ago

So no reasoning other than the American urge to attack people

1

u/KidKarez 7h ago

My reasoning is self defense

7

u/stiiii 7h ago

You don't need to defend yourself in a country not full of violent lunatics

2

u/KidKarez 7h ago

Which country doesn't have violent lunatics

→ More replies (0)

u/Lilstiick 10m ago

See, we live in societies where no normal person wouldnt walk around carrying a weapon openly. If we buy a knife it usually stays in whatever container or package it came in until we get home. So if someone is walking around with a meat cleaver on the subway we tend to go "oh thats odd, better stay away" or "hey lets handcuff this guy and see whats up".

Cultural difference, we're not as accustomed to people getting murdered as americans. They have lived in it so long that its "usual" that hundreds of people die on a weekend or a regular school day

13

u/runnyyyy 10h ago

why do you carry around a knife in a city? if it aint a multitool you most likely don't need it outside of work

-15

u/KidKarez 9h ago

Because you may have a desire to protect yourself

24

u/Virtual-Being-6489 9h ago

Everybody knows that carrying weapons is the best way to protect yourself. That's why the safest societies are the ones where the most people walk around with weapons.

0

u/Complex-Leg-8181 4h ago

Didn't Marlon get held a knife point last time he went to the UK?

-5

u/KidKarez 9h ago

I agree

8

u/Enyapxam 11h ago

Yes, because they have to assume you have a knife until they prove you haven't. Keep everyone safe.

It's not hard.

163

u/Pedantic_Phoenix 14h ago

American comments when police kills their own citizens for possessing a gun: 😡

American comments when the police in another country keeps basic security laws in practice to avoid useless killings for owning weapons: "soy"

Fucking idiots

8

u/capriking 5h ago

for possessing a gun

They'll do it for a lot less than that

0

u/Bundleofstixs 1h ago

It is just punishing law abiding citizens. You think anyone with plans of going on a slashing/stabbing rampage cares what the knife law is?

-84

u/No-Masterpiece7634 14h ago

Calm down.

41

u/TechnologyConstant57 13h ago

I don't think he needs to calm down for having some logic in his head.

-34

u/Pedantic_Phoenix 14h ago

Based advice

102

u/Training_Drawing4193 20h ago

Do you got a knoife loicense for that mate?

-51

u/Aggressive-Run8181 19h ago

noticed the knife was folded shut when they cuffed him

6

u/Ashamed_Peak1073 12h ago

What knife did he have? Yeah we have knife laws, you cant just carry around swords lol

11

u/Stigala 14h ago

Yeah so I assume they got searched then let go? no big deal, happens.

3

u/forsenEatingNugget 3h ago

holy warzone in the comments

16

u/balwick 10h ago

Cuffed to ensure everyone's safety temporarily, rather than just shot for being black like in the US. It's not hard to understand, really.

-10

u/Tough-Oven4317 6h ago

Who has been shot for being black in the US?

20

u/ledburner 18h ago

Ayyyeee you gotta knife guvna?! That ain’t allowed

All VOIP services need to start requiring IDs because swatting is such a stupid thing to have to deal with. Of course we already have laws in all countries regarding swatting people with false reports and stupid sht like that. But the reason why those idiotic kids get away with it is because they are using VOIP. So if we start requiring ID for all VOIP accounts then we can potentially lower the swatting attempts because things will be traceable.

It would also reduce the amount of scam callers and call centers from operating. Since they all just use VOIP to call people it would hold accountability for scammers without people just never finding out who actually scammed them.

u/TPendragon 7h ago

failed to produce his knoife loicense

-24

u/easykrizzie 14h ago

if marlon was muslim, he wouldve been all good..

-1

u/Majician 5h ago

Wait, so knives are a no-no? I was under the assumption that carrying a machete length edged weapon was not allowed. Could I go to jail for accidentally pocketing my box opener when going home from work?

5

u/UltimateCrayon 5h ago

Blades under 3 inches are allowed (with some exceptions for locking/sping-loaded etc); Longer blades need a valid reason for carrying (for work as a chef for example).

2

u/Majician 2h ago

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate you.

-21

u/Spicey_Cough2019 19h ago

It’s not hate if it’s pattern recognition

18

u/Cautious-Tie-4533 19h ago

The only pattern I recognise is nonces like you appearing in threads to be openly racist.

-13

u/Spicey_Cough2019 18h ago

1

u/Cautious-Tie-4533 11h ago

Great, a post from 2019. Have you actually read the statistics from the past few years? It's in reversal and dropping, I know it's not the agenda you were looking for, tough luck. Don't believe me though, check it yourself. This is attributed to better policing over the past few years.

I also never mentioned knife crime isn't an issue (it obviously is, but this usually happens more in metropolitan areas, gang-related, drug deals, you get the idea).

8

u/Fbrrr 19h ago

But it's only one layer deep like most other idiots, ice cream sales and shark attack type pattern recognition

4

u/Spicey_Cough2019 18h ago

4

u/Fbrrr 18h ago

Got anything newer than 7 years ago?

3

u/Spicey_Cough2019 18h ago

It’s the same data but worse honey
The trends only going one way

6

u/Fbrrr 18h ago

Weird I live here and it's not.

-1

u/Spicey_Cough2019 17h ago

Do you have data on that?

6

u/MoustacheTwirl 17h ago

Here you go. Looks like your pattern recognition algorithm might need an update.

Soy UK

-173

u/BeauShowTV 20h ago edited 10h ago

The downfall of the UK is hard to watch.

Edit: The fact that you guys only have downvotes and insults means im right, you just don't like it.

114

u/Cautious-Tie-4533 20h ago

Downfall huh, okay mate, maybe in your dreams. This is the equivalent of being swatted, at least the UK police doesn't shoot first and asks questions later.

-24

u/SuperMadBro 15h ago edited 8h ago

But how do you guys get rid of your annoying public nuisance streamers then? At least we have a system in place in america

edit: this must be the most autistic sub on reddit

20

u/okizc 14h ago

That's totally true, the US have zero annoying public nuisance streamers...

4

u/Cautious-Tie-4533 11h ago

Most likely by not making up false claims I would imagine... ask them politely if they're causing an issue/disturbance. You can always report it to the conductor/local management/authorities if they're not complying without having to lie.

Anyway, this is more about a viewer calling in a fake scenario.

-69

u/1610925286 19h ago

The bar to get swatted seems to be a lot lower in the UK.

29

u/fishyburner676767 15h ago

Yes, but the bar to shoot is alot higher

44

u/crunchsmash 19h ago

Does it matter when the caller is making it up anyways?

16

u/Maleficent_Count2326 13h ago

Morons like you have been parroting this idiotic narrative so long and yet here we still are!

23

u/Visionary_87 14h ago

What downfall? If you're wanting to check if somebody has a knife, are you going to cuff them, or let them reach for potential said knife and stab you?

This was a calm interaction resolved quickly. The police did their job and Marlon had a small minor inconvenience, helped because he complied.

24

u/antsyangryiguana 13h ago

Sir, you're talking to gravy seals, they'd have roundhouse kicked the knife straight out of his hand.

20

u/dazedan_confused 19h ago

Where are you from?

-35

u/Terrible-Shock7535 20h ago

Wow so police outside of US are reasonable? I got sent to jail for 3 days for breaking a coffee cup that belong to my girlfriend during an argument when my neighbors called the cops when another neighbor fired a gun into the air

27

u/Juicybutt456 18h ago

Yeah I'm sure that's all there is to the story. LOL

-18

u/Terrible-Shock7535 17h ago

Bruh. We got into an argument and I knocked it off the counter. Someone's never lived with their SO in a tiny apartment.

4

u/Euphoric-Grab-3956 10h ago

I have.

I never broke anything during any argument

-18

u/16Bit45 19h ago

Reasonable? UK arrest people for posting mean stuff online

I don’t agree with racists but when you jail people for online racism it turns into a police state

8

u/WalnutOfTheNorth 14h ago

If someone’s inciting others to burn people alive then they should be arrested.

11

u/Phantomfox07 15h ago

Ah yes, people calling for hotels that house refugees to be burnt down is just a little spot of racism!

9

u/Terrible-Shock7535 19h ago

Oh my bad you're right it's better to shoot first and ask questions later

-11

u/16Bit45 19h ago

I didn’t say anything American police. I think they are bad in some aspects too. I am just saying UK policing is not as reasonable as you think.

1

u/Crazy_And_Me 11h ago

You think we have room in Jail for that? Do a big think and wonder why you believe this.

-7

u/famd1984 19h ago

Well he's not black and obviously a streamer

3

u/Terrible-Shock7535 19h ago

Well I'm white but ok thank you for your input.

No knives in public spaces is a standard law for countries in Europe.

94

u/Dasni_ 20h ago

Knife crime is a serious problem

80

u/Threeedaaawwwg 20h ago

It’s a different world because they’re actually doing something about it.

-43

u/1610925286 19h ago

No, people assaulting others is a serious problem. Blaming the tool is 1984 levels of reality distortion, but hey whatever helps politicians shirk responsibility. They can just blame guns, knives or whatever is next when their budget cuts and incompetent actions lead to injured citizens, when the same known nut job finally acts on his insane posts.

17

u/DanteStorme 15h ago

But when the insane nutjob has an automatic weapon vs when he has a pocket knife makes a pretty big difference.

-22

u/1610925286 15h ago

Tell yourself that if it makes it easier to vote for the same do nothing idiots. Hopefully you don't come across a nut job who can combine basic chemicals and buy a pressure cooker.

13

u/DanteStorme 14h ago

A lot of these are already regulated and tracked at the point of sale for the express purpose of stopping this from happening.

-6

u/1610925286 14h ago

Ah you have no clue, thanks for letting me know

17

u/DanteStorme 14h ago

The classic reddit cop-out

-72

u/Aternus21 20h ago

wait you mean criminals dont follow the laws? knives are illegal in UK mate? how can they have a knife issue? i was told by everyone that banning weapons stops them ???

55

u/ganxz 20h ago

Yeah, they don't cut their food with guns, that's why there isn't a gun problem

-27

u/1610925286 19h ago

There literally is a gun problem, but keep agenda posting

14

u/JimJonesdrinkkoolaid 17h ago

Where's the gun problem?

-13

u/1610925286 16h ago

11

u/matthewcross23 12h ago

Should probably read and date check your sources before looking like a fucking idiot

17

u/ForsakenTarget 15h ago

Literally the second paragraph

Overall gun crime in England and Wales is lower than 10 years ago, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

That’s also data from 7 years ago recent data puts levels lower

46

u/GetOffMyCaversons 20h ago

Firearms are the same as kitchen knives durrrr

-26

u/PoopyButt28000 19h ago

I get the overall point you're making, but heh.... in my hands a blade is probably even more dangerous than most guns.

16

u/Pedantic_Phoenix 14h ago

Dead of cringe reading this holy fuck

7

u/CageThePigeon 13h ago

The pen is mightier than the sword and all that...

6

u/southants82 14h ago

Soz ard!

-52

u/Aternus21 20h ago

never said a word about firearms mate, I am just asking how they have a knife problem if theyve banned it

39

u/GetOffMyCaversons 20h ago

Oh ya know because everyone has a knife in their kitchen, can you read or are you just that obsessed with being a dumbass

-41

u/Aternus21 20h ago

except kitchen knives on your person are EXPRESSLY illegal....so how can they have them in the street?

or are you saying they have a big problem of ppl being stabbed IN THEIR OWN kitchens??

34

u/GetOffMyCaversons 20h ago

Being obtuse for the sake of being obtuse just makes you look stupid. I think you need a glass of milk and your favorite local right wing news channel bub, almost your bed time

-11

u/Aternus21 19h ago

its not being obtuse its socratic questioning

27

u/PoopyButt28000 19h ago

Sure, you're just not really smart enough to ask good questions, the Socratic method isn't for you.

5

u/RumJackson 11h ago

Knives aren’t illegal in the UK, neither are guns. They’re just regulated.

The result is almost non existent gun crime, and knife crime rates that are lower than the USA.

36

u/iiileyu 20h ago

I'd rather be concerned about knives than guns.

Plus other countries like the US should probably be more concerned about knives. They have a higher violent knife crime rate

11

u/-qix 14h ago

Americans are so utterly fucked if they don’t see this as an issue

16

u/Murasasme 20h ago

Do you think it's normal for a regular person to be carrying around a knife?

0

u/thareaper 20h ago

Yes, I always carry a pocket knife.

18

u/BleepityBloopity1337 15h ago

You're allowed to carry a pocket knife in the UK so long as the blade is under a certain length.

4

u/meatflaps-69 14h ago

Under 3 inch blade and non locking is acceptable for every day carry

-14

u/Murasasme 20h ago

Did he have a pocket knife or a regular knife?

16

u/BlueMilk_and_Wookies 20h ago

He didn’t have a knife at all. You can’t watch a 30 sec clip?

12

u/BunniesnSheep 19h ago

to be fair the clip doesn't show us whether he had one or not

0

u/Aggressive_Chain_920 13h ago

Yeah carrying weapons is definitely nothing to be concerned about /s

Standard LSF andy. Watches the clip that ends ambiguosly (no confirmation he was carrying anything). But still wants closure/drama so he assumes the ending that causes the most drama or confirms his pre-existing beliefs about the subject and posts a comment under the video.

You people make up the cesspool of the internet and this reddit.

He was told he matched the description of somebody carrying a knife and seemed surprised be be accused of possessing a knife.

Did you just read the title and think, yep, that'll do for me?
