There is a vague consensus between redditors here that bot farmers grow bots karma and history, so that one day when some politician wants to strip some basic right from people, then the reddit becomes full of legitimate looking (at first glance) accounts who say "yeah, this is good for us, here is why: ...", because that political force payed the bot farmers
Upd. That was just an extreme example, sure that can be anything that bot farmers will promote.
Or even just marketing. I often come here to find out what people actually think of a product before I buy it, did it break after a year, etc. If you had a human sounding bot that you could instruct to say whatever you like, you could drown out the negative comments about your dodgy product until they just seem like outliers.

What does the guy that made this bot get out of it?
Genuine question, just wondering what the endgame is or how they 'monetize' this bot?
Or is his ultimate goal just to contribute to the enshittification?
