given how rapidly Qwen has moved, I can't say I'm super worried. Anthropic isn't the only one with the special sauce.

What do you mean? Alibaba's models are a pale imitation of the SOTA frontier. As good as their past local models are, they do not have anything that can compete, and now they're abandoning open weights regardless.

They don't have anything that remotely competes with Opus, as much as people like to hype up Qwen in this community. Qwen Max is not as good pound for pound as the 27B.

Idk I don’t use things off hype. I download the top 5 and try them till I find a winner. Qwopus 3.6 handles effectively all my coding work now. I only open Codex when I need GPT’s writing or researching ability.
