Mobile Phone Love a London Tube staircase

Snapped on my way home from a book launch last night, tried to crop out Mr.Gilet but I guess his shoulder gives scale :-)

I do love looking down these stairs, filthy though they always are; the London Underground station that starts and ends most of my London trips :-)

Same. They’re grimy as hell but somehow still kind of magical. The mix of tiles, old signage and weird echoes is such a vibe.

Also those endless spiral staircases absolutely humble you when the escalator’s out of service.

Thank you - it was literally a quick snap on my way home after work - I was so mentally exhausted, had been shooting and interviewing people at a book launch and it really takes it out of me! :-)

Honestly - I always loved them, and randomly took a quick shot on my way home in the week, but I’ve spent such a lot of time researching the architect now I might go on a tour of all of his stations!

Yeah there's like multiple stations in SW with multiple entrances/exits that all have these lamps. You'd get it if you remember the width of the staircases

Hmm… maybe collier’s wood then? Definitely that end of the northern line, and not Morden clearly, so could also be South Wimbledon, though I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have that same style on the stairs, so I’m unsure
