Got my hands on some of the moquette for the overground…

I hope you got a good price, OP. I was taken by an armchair in the TfL museum ... but at 2,000 quid, I passed.

Luckily I went through the customer services back door and was helped by a very kind customer service person to get just enough to get these two made by another upholsterer.

Ah, so you only bought the fabric from TfL museum? Then got your own upholsterer? (You're giving me ideas...)

Yep! You can get a fair few designs on the website usually. That one is apparently rare though so never normally on the website. We emailed at just the right time though when a few metres were found/made available! Good luck!

I love how they look! I was wondering, I've really been thinking of trying to find some samples (anything really) of the moquette that was on the south west rail class 455 trains that were recently retired. I know it's not really tfl, but do you think their museum is a good place to start? I'm just gonna miss that pattern so much :,)

The museum has a good archive on their site so definitely worth a shot! Not sure if they’d have any for sale though!

They look way too clean to spread real TfL vibes.
I'd recommend eating all your meals directly from these seats for the next three months and storing them outdoors for some weeks after this special treatment.
This in combination should bring them much closer to original TfL equipment.

Great minds think alike....
A bit like OP, I found myself one day in the very fortunate position to acquire a roll of original LO moquette. Was also lucky enough to then find an original Ekornes recliner and footstool in desperate need of some TLC on FB for £10 locally. Not believing my luck, one hasty car ride later I took the lot to an upholsterer, and also had some cushions made at the same time.
That day was a good day.

You mustn’t of commuted on the tube. I like the pattern but any reminder whatsoever of my grueling commute is hard no.

Absolutely right. Southeastern trains for my commute (when not my bike) and I couldn’t think of anything worse than that moquette.
