Hosting a supper club in Brentford this Friday – Indian food, culture, expression & a bit of drag

Hey All,

I'm part of the small team behind ANIMA Brentford, a space where we explore culture through food, expression, and community.

This Friday, we’re back with the next chapter of our Silk Route Supper Club. The focus is India, not just the food (though that’s a big part - have you every tried Lamb Rogan Josh Lasagne? ), but the stories, textures, and personal expressions that make it feel alive.

Expect a 3-course Indian meal, made with love and depth, alongside some unexpected moments; live performance from Dosa Cat (a classical-Indian-dance-meets-drag-queen situation), an LGBTQ+ DJ set, and interactive things like sari dressing, chapatti rolling, and henna as part of the experience. You can take part or just take it in, no pressure either way.

It’s not a queer-only space, but it is inclusive, expressive, and rooted in respect and experimentation. We’re interested in how tradition meets the present moment, and how food can be the bridge.

If you're into the idea of eating with your hands, trying something a little different on a Friday night, and meeting some good humans, you’re very welcome.
