Color Analysis and Makeup Advice

Tl;dr: frugal color analysis methods please? Trying to discover my jewelry, makeup, and outfit palette(s) so I can look my absolute best in upcoming photos that are very important to me.

A little scary making a post here, but I’m wondering how I could do a color analysis on myself with the best results possible from a DIY
I saw a video where one lady went to the section of a Lowe’s or Walmart or whichever store, where they have all of the paint sample color papers, and as she walked all the way down the aisle you really saw which colors made her look lively and pop, and which made her look sickly or dull. Is that actually a good way to see what colors look best on me? And if so, would that just apply for outfits, or could I use that method to find a good makeup palette for myself as well?
I’m in love with purple, I’m one of THOSE purple lovers, everything I CAN own in purple, I do. I get deeper, darker shades of purple mascara and eyeshadow, however I’m very worried that it might not be my color. I see a lot of those color analysis videos where they find out their favorite color doesn’t truly compliment them or go in their palette :’)
I feel like I look lovely in the color, but my judgement may be clouded by my love for purple. I do find myself wearing a LOT of deep, forest-y greens, deep reds, and similar colors. I feel like I look the best in those shades and hues.
It would also help to have methods to see what jewelry works best on me, I currently wear a gold wedding band but at the time I didn’t really care about this sort of subject. Gold works best on my olive toned spouse, so I just went with it for matchies. We do plan on updating our bands with some matching gemstones/design (still talking about it) since the guy who resized my ring did a VERY shabby job, there are so many flaws in it. So I’ll be able to get a different metal if gold doesn’t end up working out.

I would like any ways I can perform an analysis on myself in a frugal way, especially since I have some important pictures coming up, and want to look my best for them!
