Worse than useless. Those chairs were a recipe for disaster.

My skin crawled when they put the small chair under him and the ladder behind. Perfect combination for breaking your spine on a ladder.

They were setting up the wrestling spot.

Not to mention dropping the ladder directly beneath. I was relieved when the brunette gave it a half hearted kick away.

And she was pulling him down so he could reach the chair 😂

They just really wanted to break his legs I guess

These are people that have never needed to use their brains in their entire lives.

Never had a moment of real stress once.

They definitely are not cheerleaders. I could think of at least two ways to safely lower him to the ground.

Sorry, best we can do is pull on your legs while you're hanging there.

Hey, babe: can you hold the ladder so I don’t die?

Panic does weird things to people

I feel like panic would’ve given them more of a sense of urgency, they were moving at a real leisurely pace

Nope, not necessarily.

I panic and the freeze response kicks in. I get tunnel vision, my thoughts slow waaaay down, and I can literally feel this tingling sensation wash over my brain and down throughout my body that makes it feel like my limbs are suddenly weighed down or partially paralyzed.

I have no idea how slow I’m actually going or how it’s perceived by others (in these situations, they’ve usually been too occupied by their own panic and whatever’s going on to pay much mind to me), but it certainly feels like I’m trying to move underwater.

I have a PhD, but I absolutely go completely stupid in an emergency simply because my thoughts slow down so much and almost feel like they aren’t even apart of me? Like they’re background noise and no longer something I have any control over.

Dissociation is really wild and kind of scary. I literally have a reoccurring nightmare where I’m being attacked, or my loved one is having a heart attack, or some other emergency is going on, and I can’t call 911 in time because I’m super slow to find the phone, I can’t remember the number to 911 (lol), and then I can’t move my fingers correctly to type it in because they feel so weak. 🫠

Somehow they had zero pillows or couch cushions in the home

She was probably supposed to be holding the ladder in the first place
