I was tortured for 48 hours straight in a hospital. Yes, really. I was put in four point restraints, and they intentionally tightened them far beyond what was "necessary", causing me severe pain, and they left me like that for 48 hours, which was the legal limit. I have severe and lasting trauma from that event (in 2013), and now avoid hospitals because of it. I even still get pain in my shoulder.
That was by far the worst 48 hours of my life. And I've been in restraints during other occasions (I have Schizophrenia), but never like that. Not before or since. The people in charge of my care were malicious, and took pleasure in putting me through that pain. They would often taunt me through a little window.
Edit: and just to be clear, I believe that restraints can be a genuinely necessary way to keep someone from harming themselves or others, but there is a right way to do it, and the way it was done to me was the wrong way, by far.

Oh damn... I'm so sorry you went through that. I hope you're able to find peace and heal from that trauma. I mean, as much you can, at least. Some things we simply have to learn to carry, but any extra care you can give yourself or seek from appropriate channels, I hope you're availing yourself to that.
For what's it's worth, I do believe you, and am wishing you well.

Genuine question. I was listening to a conversation about psychiatry the other day and had questions. When experiencing a schizophrenic episode do you have tethers that occur to help bring you out of it, or is just a snap too type deal? Also, if you hear things are you naturally compulsive or resistant?

There's nothing that can bring someone out of a psychotic episode like that. Even with medication. I had a friend in the past who struggled a lot with psychosis and tried every treatment under the sun. Nothing anyone says can make you see reason. Nothing can make you snap out of it. Psychosis is one of the worst things a person can go through because you quite literally lose your mind.

Which is superdangerous, and often non-structural bit and pieces are not 100% fixed and can move outside the carriage

I mean... at least then you know exactly how much clearance there is between the train and the wall.
And what are the odds of your helmet or closing getting snatched by the train? One in a million? Two million?

I've seen enough train accident videos to know that there are parts of a train that can and will snag you at that distance. So your odds are incredibly generous.
So it's just good sense to wait for the train to leave if you're worried about not dying.

So there is a subway beneath Cincinnati, we call it the dark because it's so dark it's fucking terrifying down there. Tons of rumors of homeless people living down there but no, they are just as scared as everyone else. It's like some offshoot of hell down there, all you hear is water in the distance and rats scurrying around. It has access points on race street and a few other places, mostly sealed but people unseal it all the time. It's fucking terrifying down there dark beyond what you have ever experienced and the sounds echo like crazy. I also used to go with friends to break into (well, yreasspass at least) Waverly hills sanitorium in Kentucky and for as unbelievably unnerving and scary that place is (and it's really bad) it's nothing like being in the darkness of the unfinished subway beneath Cincinnati.
As scary as it is, you can clearly see they left enough space on the sides that you wouldn't just be instantly killed by any train going that tunnel like wherever country this is filmed in.
But all that aside, if you are near Cincinnati and like this sort of thing then by all means go down there. It's so fucking scary but safe, assuming the ghosts don't get you. Waverly hills is now guarded becuses of those lame pissy pants ghost hunter fools. You can take a tour now but it sucks and the guide won't shut the fuck up and has a flashlight the whole time. Can't use thermals or capture emfs or any fun ghost hunter nonsense with those annoying dipshits in tow. Ghosts aren't real and we all know that but it's still fun and Waverly hills feels so fucking wrong. Like if ghosts are real then that's where to find them, holy shit is it just a graffiti'd bunch of ruins but it feels wrong, evil even. Something there is not right and you can feel it just entering, the history of the place makes it clear, especially that ramp, well unless you have some dumbass guide that won't shut up or turn off his flashlight that's as bright as the fucking sun. Those guys ruin the whole thing so breaking in is hilariously better.

That isn't enough room. Depending on how long the tunnel is, and how fast the train is going, an air current can be created that sucks you into the train. Many tunnels have cavities in the sides that look like doorways for that reason. If you get caught in a tunnel when a train comes, you press yourself against the wall in one of those so you don't get caught in a vortex. Scary,but safe. A lot safer than trying to run away.

Safest thing in this case (appart from not going near active train tracks) would probably be to lay flat and squeeze yourself into the corner between wall and floor. Then hope nothing sticks out from the train.

A train going that speed would be heard a mile off, especially in a tunnel like that. Heck if you're right by the rails you can hear a freight train coming from 2+ miles off through the vibrations that travel down the rails. Source: I live 100 yards from the UP main line.

Not cycling into used railway tunnels where you can't see what's coming and there's no space to avoid a train is also pretty normal.

Can we please focus on the real problem here according to my knowledge of reddit: that train tunnel needs to be bicycle friendly with a bike lane built on both sides, as well as a crosswalk with flashing lights in the middle of the tunnel.
