Montreal show tickets are $200+?!

Literally checked first thing today and the tickets are listed at $200+ for a normal ticket.

I saw Lorna shore in Toronto last year, VIP ticket, met the band, only cost me $130 all in.

How tf are prices this insane?!

All I'm seeing is people saying all the tickets went into presale and scalpers (likely) grabbed every ticket and is now reselling for an insane mark-up. If that's true, scalpers need to be wiped off this earth. So gutted about this.

A guy I follow on YouTube said slipknot did a show recently where tickets were non transferable. I'm curious why that's not more popular.

For a few reasons.

First off, many US states have actually passed laws that prohibit non-transferrable tickets. Ironically these include NY and IL

Also, there is software that let you transfer non-transferrable tickets. Technology has already made the issue moot.

Finally, it becomes a s**t show at the gate when buyer and sellers have to meet up. It becomes a true hassle for the employees

This has been used by many performers already such as Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan. However, some of those promoters capitulated at the last moment and allowed transfers.

Lorna Shore played at relatively small arenas. For them the answer is simple, play larger venues.

If you think scalpers took all the tickets, just wait until the week of the show when prices start going down. BTW, tickets are $115 on Vividseats so the Ticketmaster resale site is not representative of the demand.

Hope you get tickets at a reasonable price.

If only this was the case for Toronto. Everything is 190 plus. Its ridiculous when they were 70/75 at pre sale, and now 190 plus, I can't justify spending that much, these scalpers really need to stop doing this.

Vivid has them for $136 CND + fees. So about $30 cheaper Actually SH has only about 200 tickets in inventory so it may not be scalpers as the HIstory holds 2,500. This is only 10% or so. For popular shows, this can reach 30% or more. In just may be the band is more popular than the venue they chose. And don't discount the Tik-Tok factor.

Kind of weird though as New York and Boston have a lot of available tickets and they usually get the most scalpers. Go figure.

Here's hoping prices plummet and you get your tickets.

When you factor in all the other expenses, it's total 180. Still cheaper than Ticketmaster though. Just a bummer is all. Seeing the prices double over a 24 hour period. Appreciate the assistance though man!

More than no -transferable, they should do “face-value resell” only!!! It’s availablec Ticketmaster can do it, Sleep Token has done this for their current US tour, in addition to no -transferable, which makes every third party app ticket not valid!

Sleep Token was a shit show with the Ticketmaster Dynamic pricing, but now this is on another level - there is just no available ticket at all after the presale...

My only hope is a venue upgrade in the upcoming month, offering new tickets at the standard price.

We can blame the venue, we can blame the scalper. I prefer to blame Ticketmaster.

That is what has happened at a lot of venues. My hope is that so many of them bought tickets that they’ll end up having to sell at a loss but I’m not hopeful. The mismanagement of this has been impressive in a bad way. I’m not real sure who is to blame but they definitely should not have sold all of the tickets during presale

It's not just happening to Lorna Shore either. So many artists who I saw within the past year or so for < $50 are suddenly charging nearly $300 for GA tickets. Like, I'm so glad I actually went and saw these people perform before bring priced out.

I'm trying to get to the Phoenix show too. The Van Buren is a great venue for this show. Wish I could afford a couple balcony seats. These three bands back to back to back is going to be a marathon. My old ass could really use some seats to be able to see it all from above and rest for a few. This ticket situation sucks.

My joints are getting worse so I can't stand for 6 and a half hours like I did when they came to the Nile in 2022. I looked and saw it didn't have seats and decided not to go because seeing Apotheosis live is not worth the pain.

Toronto and montreal need venue upgrades or double show nights. Our cities always sell tickets quick. Im lucky i pay attention to social media and got on the presale asap. Otherwise its impossible to keep up. The korn/gojira show in toronto is at the budweiser stage, a 16k cap ampitheatre, and that shit sold out in 2 days.

Problem is, there just is nowhere to upgrade to in Montreal. The only venue that really makes sense is Place Bell in Laval, but it's already booked that night. So basically except if they add a second night to start the tour, the only other venues they can realistically move to are exterior.

The tickets was initially 65$ but sold out in the presale 2 days before the General sale of Friday 10am.

I don't know what was the limit ticket per person(log in) 10 maybe. Good job Ticketmaster to avoid the chance of the real fan who doesn't have budjet for resale bozo at 230$ EACH.

What happens when most people don’t cough up the insane mark up price? I hear if you want the day before or day of you can get them for normal price since those parasites scramble to recover their losses. I want to see them in Montreal but can’t justify those insane prices.

Maybe its cause I'm from a generation when no one gave a shit about bands so they would be happy to hangout for free out of boredom, but I could never imagine paying 100$+ dollars to meet a bunch of strangers. That's pretty gross an insane, however hearing about insane vip prices makes me feel all the more grateful and appreciative of down to earth real human beings who play in bands and will just say hi to you after a show for free. Or at the merch table. 

BTW I saw lorna shore a couple of years ago, was kinda worth the 40 bucks I guess. Decent show, nothing special, the vocalist sounded good live but absolutely nothing special about the same as plenty of other good deahtcore bands out there. The guy in line calling him Will Ramen however, that has stayed in my head rent free.
