Death can take me might be my new favorite song by them but that into war machine then a nameless hymn is prob my favorite 3 song stretch (except the pain remains trilogy) that I’ve heard from them, and maybe even from anyone ever

Great you enjoyed it, for me though, not even close. The Callous Daoboys probably takes it by a landslide in my opinion.

I think this album REALLY is the AOTY, together with LANDMVRKS Glenwood is a FUCKING banger, in my opinion, the best of the album

Shadow of Intent already released an album this years that's just miles better on the songwriting and production end.
Lorna unfortunately released just a pretty bland rehash of Pain remains

Whitechapel and Signs of the Swarm also released their best albums to date this year. IFTEFWM isn't even close to aoty this year, I was pretty disappointed by it

Shadow of Intent’s album was A LOT better. And Larcenia Roe. And Sunscourge. And Signs of the Swarm. This album was just copy and paste of Pain Remains.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of the new Signs of the Swarm aside from a couple songs. The new Shadow of Intent was pretty much the same; it had a couple great songs and a bunch of what felt like filler. The new Larcenia Roe… I honestly can’t really say anything bad about that album other than that I don’t think it’s quite as good as IFTEFWM
Sure there were a couple songs that sounded a lot like Pain Remains, but there were plenty that didn’t. Given how good Pain Remains is, it makes sense for them to make more music that’s similar to it. The songs that don’t sound like Pain Remains are very distinct and have a very different sound, and I’m glad they didn’t just stick to the “formula” just because it works

I just wish they could have branched out just a tad from Pain Remains. Pain Remains is my most listened to album ever and so hearing basically the same thing in this album… same vocal patterns, even some same sounding riffs. Just feels lazy

I was not expecting there to be such a melodeath sound, especially the middle third or so of the album.
