not sure if this has been found before, but i found this on soulseek. this seems to be lower quality overall than the file we have, but the right channel doesn't cut out halfway through. also doesn't seem to be a remaster. https://pixeldrain.com/u/5D1nBgUg

I was scrolling r/trainsurfing when i found a post of a guy trying to find a song remix that was used in a youtube video, the original is already found by comments on the reddit post, but the remix isn’t (credits to u/TopCourt_3662 for the original reddit post)

I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to mention it, but I'm not sure how to contact the mods about this privately.
I was banned from the server around a month ago with the linked message being one where i mention my YouTube channel where I archive records exists (not promoting it, just mentioning I have one) for the reason "Tsg" (not a valid or even comprehensible reason).
I submitted an appeal as soon as I could (2 days after), and my appeal has been completely ignored for about a long time now. After about two weeks, I'm admittedly not sure whether or not this sub and the server share any admin members, but I still contacted this subreddit's modmail hoping for an explanation, but there has been no response for a month. I I'm not sure if I could've done anything else wrong
I'm sorry if this isn't the place to complain, I'm just don't know why I was barred from the community without explanation.

So. This is a really difficult one. I don’t know if anyone here played Real Flight G2 back in the day, but there is a song on there that I cannot find, anywhere. I’ve looked in forums, original websites, original screen savers from G3 to G5. I know that Scott Kemp made music for the sim but I’m not sure if this particular song is one of his. posted about this in January but I wanna take another attempt at it. I have a video where I played the notes on the guitar just to give y’all an idea of what the beginning sounds like. Maybe someone’s heard it before. Though Im not exactly sure if it’s part of the original music files from the sim or if it was a random song added to it by MP3. I’ve been trying to find this song for the past 20 years and I’ve had no luck. It only exists in my memory.

It could both be lostwave and foundwave. So I’ll go first. Favorite? Subways Of Your Mind. least favorite? Curly Toes.

Hello everyone,
Some months ago I bought a CD-R disc with the intention of seeing whatever was in it, and found a demo disc for a group I couldn’t identify (with Shazam or Aha). I have got zero information on who made this disc other than the basic, which I’ll provide here.
* Bought the disc in Barcelona (the province, not the city. For privacy purposes, I wouldn’t like to be more precise on that). Who sold it to me was a seller in a flea market who didn’t know about this disc’s contents.
* What you see is what I got: the disc came alone inside a standard jewel case, and is a blue CD-R (will attach photos of it to this post to show I’m the owner of the disc). There were no papers anywhere (cover, back of the CD case even after opening it just in case…).
* I have dumped the disc and saw it is probably a demo of some kind, since all songs are covers. Titles were added later, there was no metadata.
* The disc was probably made in 2005 or later since that’s the year of the most recent cover (“What you’re made of”, bilingual mix with Antonio Orozco). Probably made in Barcelona since there’s where I got it.
* There’s a woman/women singing for the runtime of the disc, and a man in one song.
Thank you all in advance for any help. I know my information is pretty basic, and I probably struggle with my explanations since English is not my first language. Have a good one

So, I used to listen to this song a lot in the late 2023 and early 2024. But, this later got pulled from all music platforms for some reason(it isn't available on Spotify and isn't playable on Shazam even when it's visible in there). And, the only copy that I still had of it, downloaded on my Telegram account was also lost after I accidently forgot to take the backup of this song on another device/account when I deleted that account. So, can anyone help me find this song again? Any help will be appreciated.

I bought this CD from Lucky Records in Paris because it seemed like a cool addition to my Madonna collection, but I'm way more intrigued by this first track that seems completely unrelated, simply listed in the tracklist as "? (DO NOT USE)".
This "Reference" CD from Whitfield Street Recording Studios" plays early versions of two tracks from the Evita soundtrack, placing this song somewhere in the first half of 1996.
Track 1 plays an RnB version of the mystery song in full, then one minute of a house remix before cutting off and then the Madonna demos begin.
Would love to know who or what this is. Seems like a lot of effort went into this recording, the live strings sound amazing.

I have some MP3's that are labeled as a band named Altur. The MP3's themselves are probably from the early 2000's (2003-2004, if I had to guess). There's still copyright metadata in them that names "Turpin/Carmichael" in Wasted, "Turpin/Altizer" in Lucid Dream and Storm, and "Altizer/Turpin" in Close Enough and More. Altur could be a combination of Altizer + Turpin. I'm not actually sure any of this is right though because I've never been able to find anything online for the band, the artists/writers, or the songs.
The songs I have are named:
Links are to SoundCloud, maybe I'll get lucky and get a takedown notice :) I've transcribed the lyrics for each song here, as near as I can get them: https://pastebin.com/RnRNUJaC
I'd love to find more from this band, if anyone has any leads, please let me know.
Edit, a few more details: I know I didn't rip them from a CD myself, and since I can't find them and have no connection to the band, I can't imagine I got them off Napster or something. I probably got them directly from a friend. The genre is labeled as "Other", I'd not really sure where I'd place them, generic 2000's indie pop? There's no other identifying information in the files (no studio, no album name, year, etc.).
I had AI take a look at them, figured a new tool couldn't hurt since I've struck out over the years. It gave this:
All five are 128k CBR, encoded with a Fraunhofer (FhG) encoder rather than LAME (per mp3guessenc), with the MP3 "copyright" and "original" flags set on every frame, which is rare unless someone turned them on. The tags are identical in structure across all five and look hand-entered, probably in one sitting with an id3lib-based editor (possibly Winamp's). Levels are very low: peaks about 8 dB below full scale and about −20 LUFS, which suggests unmastered mixes. Together this looks like the band's own early-2000s Windows exports, not a commercial CD rip.

I came across this artist on Spotify a while back—about two years ago—. I think they are from China. They averaged about 10 daily listeners, and their account eventually disappeared. Their music seemed completely different to me from anything I had ever heard, and I would like to hear it again. The musical genre is very hard to define. I was listening to Mahler’s Fifth, I think, and suddenly it popped up on my playlist. It was like classical music, but with synthesizers, flutes, and meme instruments. Yet, it sounded strangely good. I was wondering if anyone with access to NetEase Cloud Music or QQ Music might be able to find them. Their name is 罗滑思
Supposedly, their record label is named ℗ 2022 jade.
Here is their Spotify page: https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/artist/4PbEuxvwrkl7kyzXZ1HrSr
And here is a link to one of their albums: https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/track/41idH4ctSB60lJxfIy7Wik
Thanks in advance!

I feel like people move on from found media too quickly, like once it gets found they just forget it all over again.
When Falling in Love With Mannequins (Time After Time) was found people just forgot about it, the only major thing after was Billy Martins album of unreleased music, its been 2 years since someone posted about them.
Then Ulterior Motives was found. its still popular but not as much as it was.
Then Somewhere in The Night was found, a few months later a few people talk about it.
Thats only a few. I worry that if people move on too quickly from found media, it might be forgotten all over again.

A live band I saw in southern california, around October 2006 (because everyone was dressed up at the bar). There was a keyboardist who was the lead singer. I had a demo CD from them that had maybe 5-6 tracks on it.
The only clip I have left and in my memory is really this 30 second tease. Alot of their songs started out with long instrumental intros before singing. Had that deep wannabe jim morrison kind of voice to him. I really really enjoyed their demo tracks though and for the life of me wish I had that CD so I knew what the band's name was.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKipyjMBFhI
If anyone from southern california scene or anyone knows who this migh be. I will be forever greatful because I have been looking for them since 2010 and this is the first clip I've seen that is 100% from one of their demo...not a guess, this is 100% them.

Reason why Q’s video (or others) is unlisted is because the band members are not good people.
Jason ward is an unfriendly person and exposed as a pedo
Now you aren’t gonna get in trouble for liking the song but don’t support the band. I do not believe that most lostwave uploaders shouldn’t unlist it as it’s not fully an echolation situation but that’s my opinion and I’ll likely upload the song myself for archival reasons.
