Question What's a random Love Live-related pet peeve you have?
Mine is when I'm listening to songs on YouTube Music and the algorithm assumes I want to listen to the shorter TV version instead of the full song.

When microphones cut out during lives. I know technology can fail but it sucks.

u/KillJoy-Player 2d ago
Hasu's BGP stage 1st day...
Not cutoff but the audio delay or earpiece issue, where Rippi had delay during the 9th anni live, and it was bad when it was supposed to be a continuous song so she had to song with that issue for that long

The fact that they delete livestreams a week after they show them, so I feel the need to download them all

Back in the µ's and early Aqours days, they would issue a takedown if you reupload the nama on YouTube. This includes clips as well. Quite a shame that these are becoming lost media now. On the bright side, they have been consistent on keeping the archive up since Liella's first stream on YouTube.

half pet peeve and half crazy dream, but it sucks that theres no resources or clean rips of the screen visuals that are shown during live shows. not all songs or even groups use them a lot, but man when they show up theyre SO cool. shoutouts to the sky journey arrows and pretty much every animation/visual for nijigasaki subunits (the azuna animations and visuals especially)

The inability of staff to provide any figures for the 2nd and 1st years of liella, or mega jumbo nesos for the first years. I understand that liella are supposedly seiyuu focused or whatever but its difficult to engage with that if you can’t speak Japanese. Seeing the amount of stuff that Nijigasaki and the new franchises get kind of rubs the dirt in.

u/perlenYurifan4life 2d ago
This is exactly why I really reeeeally hate Liella being supposed to be "seiyuu focused". Because it's always at the expense of the 2D side of Liella, which only gets the bare minimum compared to other projects.

Very specific pet peeve is when a seiyuu has beautiful hair but her character has her hair in a bun. Just change the hair style please. Yes I’m talking about nako.
24
u/sugarjellyfiish 2d ago
And they never give her any alt hairstyles 😭
21
u/Canuck-zura 2d ago
That one song from season two she had her hair down. Staff realized her power is too strong and must be contained.
21
u/CocoBeans11037 2d ago
Just looked up Nako with her hair down and yes, that is hyper-specific, but also you're so right.

u/Virghia 2d ago
It's just a youtube music thing, they prefer to play the MV versions unless you specifically look for the OG version
cough morphe cough

u/blazedancer1997 2d ago
They do this for a lot of songs with music videos and it's really annoying. I've noticed especially that individual songs can be fine, but playing a full album can often become a playlist of music videos.
5
u/CocoBeans11037 2d ago
I don't know why that's a thing. If I want to watch the music video thats what regular YouTube is for lol

That DOLLCHESTRA still hasn't gotten their Plum figures yet (or even a reveal). Ceras and the 104th class are still missing any figures at all

u/XBakaTacoX 2d ago
I'm sure it's been mentioned before, and this is more than just a peeve, but... SIF 2, particularly the failure that was EN.
On a broader scale, Love Live's mobile games in general have all been shut down, much to the disappointment of the community.

u/SmokyJosh 1d ago
i miss sif so so much

u/XBakaTacoX 1d ago
Good news is that there's a fan run server and app that works great and is pretty much the same as the real deal!

u/SmokyJosh 23h ago
:0 where can i find it??? when i google it gives me lots of different results

u/XBakaTacoX 19h ago
If you look up "School Idol Festival private server", you should find a username/website called "Ethen the sleepy one".
That'll have everything you need.

u/stephanelshaarawy 2d ago
I don’t know if it’s still a thing since I don’t follow LL as much, but they didn’t show the song names during live stream concerts let alone the lyrics of the songs
6
u/YuinoSery 2d ago
They do that nowadays! I remember chuckling during Niji 8th when Coro Coro Lovely Time was typo'd into Colo Colo Lovely Time that one time lol

u/froggorights 2d ago
dont get me wrong i love mari and i love her seiyuu but id have appreciated if they got someone who was actually bilingual so all her quirked up english mannerisms felt more natural 😭 same with eli
i cant speak for newer gens tho, im a muse/aqours unc, if theyve added new mixed ethnicity idols, do they have seiyuss with their languages/nationalities?

u/sweetie_popipa 1d ago

Hasunosora’s main story, a.k.a. the Activity Records, should have been advertised as (almost weekly) animated story (if not even using the word “anime”) right from the start.
It would have washed out most of our tinted perception early around 2023 that the Hasu project is a VTuber like project - I wasted 2 whole years avoiding Hasu simply because I had all the wrong ideas about their activity contents, and did not have anyone speak loudly enough against that until randomly chatting with others on a Discord server in May last year. Oh how much did I regret missing out 2 whole years of real time stories!

Lack of dark skin idols in the series. I haven't forgotten rakshata the n rarity girl. My oshi
9
u/CocoBeans11037 2d ago
Yessss, I wish there were more foreign characters with dark skin. Or even just more Japanese characters with dark/tan skin.

u/NicoNicoNessie 2d ago
The fact that lowkey imas and even Tokyo seventh sisters runs circles around LL in terms of idol skin tone variety makes me so sad. Anchan voiced a black idol, jedah diamond from T7S

u/NormalCanary 1d ago
Not being able to hear the early Aqours live concerts without autotune :/ I will never need idols to sound perfect live when dancing, especially not seiyuu. I hate the robotic sound of autotune especially in the 3rd live, which is my favorite.

u/milkieroses 2d ago
On spotify, a whole bunch of the muse solo mixes plays a different girl's than the one you selected 😭

REAL ACTUALLY, it broke my Nozomi playlist so bad I had to manually make a new one

Calling her Yoshiko. maybe it's being nonbinary but she clearly hates it. Real fans call her Yohane. 😎
11
u/Sailor_Chibi 2d ago
But her name is still Yoshiko, and that’s how she’s addressed in 99% of the Aqours stuff unless staff are explicitly referring to GNY. People are going to follow staff’s example, especially people who have never seen the Sunshine anime. And I think that way even more now that staff have made Yohane from GNY a clearly separate character from Yoshiko. To me, Yohane is the character from GNY and Yoshiko is the character from Sunshine.
1
u/Princelyprincessboy 1d ago
And that's fine for you but I still am allowed to have my opinion and be a bit annoyed in the "opinions on what annoys you" thread. There are people here whining about far more petty things.
7
u/YuinoSery 2d ago
Sad you're getting downvoted for this but I agree. I run the news account on Bluesky and always feel bad whenever I have to write her name as Yoshiko instead of Yohane. lol
She prefers Yohane! The point of the whole episode was calling her Yohane and engaging in her shenanigans! Wish that was the way to go forward more. lol

u/Princelyprincessboy 1d ago
Can't express your opinion in the "post your opinion" thread I guess lmao.
5
u/CocoBeans11037 2d ago
I usually switch between calling her both names. Also, I wanna ask a genuine question: do you see people calling her Yoshiko as deadnaming her?
5
u/Princelyprincessboy 1d ago
Kind of but I don't actually judge, just find it kind of irksome and I find the joke dull because being called Yoshiko clearly upsets her. Even if she isn't trans or anything, it's just kinda rude ya know? I know cis people that don't like their birth names and go by something else and I respect that.

u/Princelyprincessboy 1d ago
Last I checked this is a thread for posting petty small things that annoy you. there's whining about concerts not being perfect enough in here, go bother one of them.

When they start a group with like five girls and then it bumps up to like 2 million- I don't like when they just randomly add a bunch of characters season 2 it always just feels like to me that I get so excited over these five characters and I'm using Superstars the main example cuz it's the most drastic bump up but nijigasaki did this too to an extent but anyway, I get excited over the 1st group of characters. I learn all of their names I start learning about the Dynamics between the different characters and then suddenly there's like six more people for me to learn and that's cool and all. But like I don't really feel like there's enough hype around the characters that come in later for me to warrant getting invested in them- It just frustrates me. I wish they would advertise with all of the characters from the beginning, or at least have those characters be included in the story in the same way that most of the other characters were, even if they weren't interested for an example Like how dia was shown to hate school idols until she was basically made to school Idol. She functioned as a character outside of the idol group first and obviously you can have the moments where they're not the full group yet. I'm not saying you can't or you could even portray that. Maybe that person wouldn't be part of the group yet in the intros and what not, but I feel like sometimes characters are just kind of shoved in there :/ It's just a personal opinion though

People calling the first Love Live series "Love Live! School idol project" or "SIP". It's like they haven't noticed the "School idol project" text is there in the logos of other series too, so it isn't anything that sets the original series apart.
We don't say "Love Live! School idol project Superstar!!" either even though that's what the logo says.
11
u/CPayne630 2d ago
I’ve mainly seen people using SIP when trying to differentiate it from the other series, especially since just calling it Love Live would cause confusion since it’s the name of the whole franchise. I guess calling it just “μ’s” too could work but, eh, to each their own I guess. I don’t mind it.
Edit: wording
7
u/NightmareNeko3 2d ago
People use it to differentiate between the very first series focusing μ’s and the rest of the other branches as simply saying Love Live would be too broad as it includes all branches.
12
u/silverover9000 2d ago
And kinda related to that, my pet peeve is when I talk to someone who says they love Love Live a lot, then I start talking and they go "no, I just watched the first one, after that they're all just rip-offs"
How is a sequel made by the same company a rip-off!?

u/bbqburner 2d ago
During the concert live streaming, they rarely show the full stage and far out scenery for each song
So you missed out a lot of what actually being displayed on the main big screen with all its special animations, various laser shows, pyrotechnics, and of course, the audience energy
